Well, school is starting up tomorrow, which means that tonight is the conclusion to my summer.
I thought I was going to have a lot more free time, but the past three weeks of starbucks has been insane to the point where I haven't had as much time as I'd like to myself in order to be productive. All work and no play makes Alex want to throw hot coffee in people's faces.
So school is looking good for no other reason than because it's a break from work. When summer started work was looking good because it was a break from school. Talk about your ups and downs.
School for me right now has turned into a garbled position. I think the thing that gets me about it is that there is a ton of people who are full of shit. College is a place that preeches superiority, priveledge and high class. Well, specifically in the liberal arts. I don't think any type of profession should be turned into a lifestyle. Someone who is good at something should be proud and happy that they are good at something. Mechanics and Plumbers and Electricians are probably much better company that intellectuals who dedicate their lives to pretensious dinner parties.
So with that in mind, I'll see how this semester goes. I still love school and learning. Basically, I've stopped liking the status of someone in academics. What worries me is the current track I'm on is becoming a professor. I've got a few people I can talk to about it though when I get up to campus.
Hopefully I'll be able to clarify this thought more in my head as time goes on.
