Baseball.
That is how I first came across Spinoza, a thread on the SG message boards about a sports group.
He is a fan of the Cincinnati Reds, the oldest team still playing professional baseball in the United States of America today. He is also from Michigan, which is the territory of the Detroit Tigers, the baseball team of which I am a fan.
Through those first few exchanges, I have come to know that Spinoza has a great deal of heart, a baseball fan's plight is decades of waiting for a World Series victory.
He is also pretty smart with that philosophy thing and likes Red Dwarf, though I only did marginally well in my philosophy classes, I respect his love of the subject, and his rather intersting prediliction towards learning Esperanto.
Just do not serve him gespacho soup and you and he will get along swimmingly, tickity-boo, lickity split.
