Random notes, assorted odds and ends, and generally nothing useful
So far I think I'm keeping a good record on attempting to update this somewhat regularly. Granted the last was nine days ago and this is only the second entry I've done. Either way, next to no one reads it yet seeing as I'm still new here, so it doesn't really matter either way.
"What I would like to do to help the world, is to make sure that every child, in every third world country, has an unlimited supply of automatic weaponry."
I finally remembered to look up a release date for the movie MirrorMask. September 30, 2005 for those interested in Dave McKean, Neil Gaiman, Jim Henson co. related things that don't know. Would be great news that it's finally coming out theatrically, if it weren't on a day which I'll be spending eighteen hours on a train. Maybe I'll have some free time during my hoping between Philly and New York and I'll get to see it there. Otherwise it's eighteen hour train ride number two. Which means I could catch it in Chicago or just wait another few hours and watch it locally. But there's no fun in traveling that much in that week and not seeing it somewhere other than where I live. Who knows, maybe I'll watch it four times in four different cities if it's as good as I hope and I can think of nothing more interesting to do.
Random Note: It's amazing how much I ramble on, type up, then edit together (and delete about half of what I've typed) in an attempt to make these entries have some semblance of logic and order. Maybe one of these days I'll just leave it as is and leave everyone else to sort through the mess I've created exactly as it came into my mind.
"At Fairsley Foods you can shop comfortably knowing your children won't be abducted. Then shipped off to a Pakistani whore house. That's the Fairsley difference."
And since this entry is already somewhat about forms of entertainment I'm interested in that are coming out. Shadow of the Colossus. Simply cannot wait for that game to come out. Free range of an entire world while battling mammoth creatures hundreds of times your size. Made by the same people that made ICO, which was simply a brilliant game. (note, anyone who dislikes video games for the trite mindless crap a lot of them truly are, play ICO. Wonderful how they were able to create the fantasy world that they did and make you care so much about the characters despite the fact the two rarely talked, and even when they did, they couldn't understand a word the other said...simply wonderful. If a movie were made of that same quality it would live on with Labyrinth and the Dark Crystal and other films of that ilk.) Hopefully Shadow of the Colossus keeps that same feel.
Anyway, I'm just rambling on currently, so I shall end this update here. Hopefully I'll have the urge to follow up with another update soon with some more odds and ends and other asserted nonsense.

(Which, irrelevantly, raises another point: maybe zombies are always hungry for brains because their own have been destroyed by prions transmitted through cannibalism while they were alive, and that's how they got the curse of the undead. Yup. It makes so much sense, it must be true.)
