I haven't written for a while, but thought it was time to return. Had a great time in Edinburgh - saw a whole host of shows, some great, some less good, but that''s part of the experience. It felt really hard coming back to work and I've been a bit stressed ever since. I keep being reminded that life's zooming past at a hellish rate...

Thanks!

Congrats on feeling good, I think dancing is the best way to stay in shape.

Thank you for your sweet comments on my set. smile How are you? x

Off to Edinburgh at the weekend to take in all the wonders that the Fringe has to offer (or at least a small sample of them). Edinburgh's the most wonderful city and the Fringe brings such a buzz to the place. I love it. I've booked for a good range of theatre, musicals, comedy, dance etc. If anyone's up there at the same time -...

I feel full of cold today - or maybe it's just hay fever. I've had to give up on my antihistamines as they were bringing me out in a rash (so attractive!), so I'm now at the mercy of whatever pollen's going around. frown
secretary:
Thanks honey, I only meant photoshopping to bring up the colours, balance etc, not cosmetic surgery photoshopping. smile With all the rain the pollen should be dampening down. x

So ... Michael Jackson. I've been meditating a fair amount today, as I guess many have, on the nature of fame. Thriller was the soundtrack to my teenage years, and while I don't think he ever was able to recapture those glory days as the issues of his personal life took over, that and Off The Wall can't be beaten. I feel that what he...

I'm glad your play was a success. I love Heathers, it's a cult classic. smile I'm glad that someone on here actually knew the quote, and didn't think I was just being profane. x

I know I'm coming a bit late to the table on this, but isn't Beth Ditto fabulous? I'm completely captivated by her music, her personality, and her body at present. She seems such a positive role model.

I'm feeling really old today - a friend who I haven't seen for a while sent me a pic of her daughter who, last time I saw her, was a baby - now she's a 6 year old child and I hadn't noticed. Where did the time go? frown

Most of the time I don't feel like I'm any older - although my receding hairline reminds me I can't play the young leads any more. Mind you, I'm not sure I ever could!

While my move to a laptop has been fantastic in regard to speed of access to, amongst other sites, SG, my typing has gone out the window what with the small keys and all. I feel like I've got very big and clumsy fingders when I'm hammering away and having to go back to correct constant typos, instead of the long, thin, elegant fingers I've...

I've got a week off work! Lots of things to do around the house - wallpapering etc - but hopefully plenty of time to catch up with friends online. I'm also determined to write some letters this week. I used to be a brilliant letter-writer, but have just lost the habit. I dearly want to get it back.
Spending a couple of days in London...

Went to see Watchmen on Saturday - what a film. As faithful an adaptation as anyone could hope for, well acted, and with a fantastic soundtrack. Brilliant.
lil_em:
A lot of my SG friends keep talking about this Watchmen thing and I have no idea what they're talking about! Glad you enjoyed it anyway smile

Well, it's been a while ('twas ever thus) but I'm back again - finally out from under the show I was directing and ready to face the world again. It all went very well and, to some extent restored my faith in the act of directing itself.
Anyway, what do we all think of Valentines Day? I used to be a great celebrator of it...

First of all, hello to all my friends in the US and congratulations on the exciting things promised by your new President. Let's hope he lives up to his promise, for your country and the world.

I'm currently directing my local pantomime. Now for those of you living outside Britain, a pantomime is a show that takes place around Christmas and early New Year in...

I've just been checking through my friends list and was quite taken aback by how many of them had departed SG for pastures new. In many respects this is a sad indictment of how seldom I check in with my friends and a spur to make me do so more in future. So, with my now reduced list I'm determined to contact all of my...

Hey, that's great news hon! I guess losing people on SG is inevitable; I've lost people on here who I thought I was pretty close to and yet they didn't even say they were going. It's disappointing huh.

It's great to see you back and being so active again biggrin
