Disturbing encounter - I expect he felt his show - or whatever - gave him his 'justification' in trying to use the public as unpaid stooges; I don't have any patience with idiots or nuisances & would have reacted in a similar way to you. I don't see where the 'humour' is.

Re what you said about gardening - I'm not that patient at that either, it's more resignation. I wait for the right time of year, sow the seeds, wait for them to produce whatever & they fail. That's a whole year without whatever it is. You're right! What the fuck am I doing in gardening?

There is too much interference by assholes on things which harm no-one. They may 'disapprove' of the 'deviant' behaviour/subject though it doesn't affect them in any way - but they stick their bloody noses in anyway. Or 'they' refuse to consider introducing something enlightened or beneficial because of their stupid prejudices.

my father got laid off many times in my life. at one point we were so poor he had to take a 5am paper route. now he runs one of the most successful motorcycle shops in new england, which is awesome. so, good things will come.

Sorry about your dad. My dad was laid off (actually fired, but they called it laid off) when I was 7. I don't remember it very well, only how frightening it was to see my dad in a position like that.
