she was one of 6 others (all girls!) i had AP studio art with senior year.

i can't fucking believe some of the shit she remembered about me...like what my out going message was on my...

to make you think really hard about leaving? to make you feel more of a connection with 'home' while you are gone? maybe just a strange coincidence?

Professor T. J. Teru was a character in the ZBS Adventures series Ruby. Being a radio serial, my then girlfriend and I assumed the name was somewhat exotic and would have to have an H in there somewhere. We were wrong. Anyway, that's how he got the name.

today seems to be the today for running into people.

as i rounded the corner at the medical center to find my way to suite 2B i heard a voice declare my name and looked up to see this beautiful asian girl which it took me about a nanosecond to realise was my old high school frard J---. the first thing she said was: 'i...

Speaking of old, but not so old frards...

it's nice to see you again. And I wish the anniversary didn't go the route they did after the first album.

things have been pretty bad. to the point that i am now debating cancelling my trip. i'm just too overwhelmed right now and a total mess. i really don't know what to do any more. i've never cancelled a trip in my life for anything. i've gone to foreign countries alone without problem, so i have no idea why i feel so compelled to...

you know, i think it is because of our birthday.

i have also been plagued by the repetition of life and the sensitive being.

i have a habit of smoking a lot of pot to numb the neverending thoughts in my head, or over indulging in food, drink, etc.

i just started taking zoloft. supposedly it is going to help me.

i don't know.

what i do know is that travel is the healer of my soul. sometimes you have to leave to know where you want to be.

-nothing cool on eBay fits. THis dress.
lovely. but way too big. this jacket- i WILL get it. and get it tailored. i find it all so ironic that the clothes that come up under the keyword 'twiggy' would never have actually fit the real twiggy. if they had perhaps i'd have a shot at finding something that fitz.

-i gonna move. i hopes sooner...

yesterday i went to graceland cemetary.

not the one where elvis is buried, but this huge well-kept graveyard in chicago.

there are trees there. and grass. and bushes. and a big pond. and all the buildings and noises in the city around it are practically blocked out. all you hear are the leaves being rustled by the wind.

in this city, that's practically a national...

From the Old French verb a noun meaning worry, boredom was derived, which became ennui in modern French. This noun, with the sense boredom, was borrowed into English in the 18th century, perhaps filling a need in polite, cultivated society. This horror plagues my soul like the depths of the sea beckons each primal entity to it's eternal abyss.

(In a lovecraftian sense anyways :smilesmile

**i love going to a show where the opening bands just blow you away. such was last night. i was totally floored by this local band called the gardeners. one kick ass band for their first show, and only 2 months together. i asked them where they're playing next, and of course, they have no idea. frown

not to get into specifics, but i think the whole ubermench thing has been totally misinterpreted. nietzsche hated german nationalism, and the nazis would've made him sick. he reversed his earlier anti-semitism after he broke ranks with wagner, but people don't really acknowledge that for some reason.

he was an idiot about women, but then most 19th century european males were. i don't like that aspect much.

that was a great show all around, the gardeners were fun and pretty interesting as well.

Yes, I miss her too. Her journals were unmatched. And she's still my favorite strictly based on looks. But in reading her livejournal from time to time, she just seems bent on having drama in her life. And not particularly healthy drama. I wish her well, though.

PDX is pretty cool. In a sense, it's a microcosm because it is mostly liberal allowing many different people and ideas to flourish on their own. But it is sort of small. Voltaire grew to hate it for various reasons. Lack of sun/abundance of rain at times. Too few things to do, places to go - once you've been here a little while you've seen and done just about everything. I think that is a reasonable complaint, especially from people who have lived in bigger cities. Portland's nightlife is pretty low-key. But, many fall in love with the attitudes and the smallishness and the green. If SGHQ was still here, it would have been nice for you to make it out for the 2nd anniversary party.

Apparently the restaurant we ate at has been there for many years. But, as the migrant population has increased, we are seeing more and more hole-in-the-wall Mexican places, many of which are quite good. And some of the carts on the sidewalk downtown are supposed to be very good as well - all ethnicities. However, I'm living vicariously through my friend K on that - she works down there and tells me about them.
