I'm back. For how long, I'm not sure. But I'm hoping to enjoy myself while it lasts. Life is running a mile a second, so I barely can catch my breath. But it's good, nonetheless.

i can definitely sympathesize with you as a "fellow teacher", but i agree with zippyfrong: this kid is an adult and he controls his own destiny. when working with young kids, sometimes it is easier to motivate them with rewards and praise. but if you didnt care, then you wouldnt be a good teacher! its a tough job, but some of us have to do it (well i SHOULD be doing it, and i will be in the fall, per order of my dad LOL

I can REALLY relate to the busy thing...today was my first day off in 17 straight, and I did nothing...needed the down time, just to try to get my head back in the game.

It truly amazes me that the vast majority of kids today don't seem to grasp how important their education is...besides the all encompassing party on campus. I grant you I went to school with Aristotle, but we at least gave a damn and didn't feel grades were our due just cause we paid to be there. These are the people who'll be taking care of me in my dottering old age...next week. frown

Unfortunately, summer for me is the busy season, so it has lost some of it's lustre...although I can't wait to see scantily-clad young ladies come through drive-thru biggrin

thanks for the advice. i am sure that when the time is right i will be able to open up again. my dad waited 3 hours to get his tracker registered a few days ago. DMV's will never learn how to be efficient. much like health insurance.

well well, that is certainly a big step-one that brian and i have talked about on and off forever...mainly he thinks i am too much of a slob for that. messy, maybe-but i do try my damndest to not keep anything out of place while i am at a his house...
