All the rabble rousers have been stuffed into their fuzzy wuzzys and shipped off (rather unwillingly) to their own personal utopias. "What dreams may come..?".....none can know save the dreamers, who, for lack of "shuffling off (of) their mortal coil", will rise, as per usual, demanding of ME long tics of toast, eggs, fruits of every imaginable shape and size, and a salad, with "a...

Toxic huh? In some countries, they serve them up as a delicacy.

'mornin world!

Not a bad night at work.... for once.

I had some lovely banter with several staff members and was surprised to find that none of them had heard of the film Harold and Maude--one of my favorites. (I love the dark comedy and sweet surprising love story.) The conversation led to a discussion of many fine films and underground classics , some of...

Just back from my weekly soiree into That London, where I'm known as someone who does stuff. That London is the full name given by people in the north of England to That London. Going to That London makes me appreciate the full irrelevance of somewhere like Liverpool (where I live). I like That London, although having lived there for many years I don't think I could do so again. We've done rural and urban, and I have to say I much prefer urban. No particular reason really. I like busy. Liverpool is neither. I think Liverpool died in the sixties and people keep claiming it's being rejuvanated, but it's seems pretty dead to me. But then I was at a party for the grandees of the publishing world on Monday night, and figured that publishing is also dead. I spent half an hour talking to the acquisitions editor of a left-wing publishing house about his latest radical acquisition (which isn't very), and all the time I was thinking about Japanese food.

Mmm.... ramen.

So then I figured, maybe I'm dead. But then I thought....mmm... sushi....

And I will dine off that endorsement with My Good Lady Wife next time she brings up that Mother's Day gift of petrol station flowers.

Yesterday is dead is gone
And tomorrow's out of sight
Ain't it sad to be alone?
Help me make it through the night...

Songs about tomorrows are always sad - only pessimists see the poetry of what might be. Possibly because an optimist's vision of tomorrow would be:

Woo-hoo, we're going to the fair
I'll get hot peanuts
And win a fish.

Actually, I like that version better.

The four basic personality types:

A:'The cup is half empty'

B: 'The cup is half full'

C: The cup is half empty. No! Half full! No wait, half...'

D: 'Hey, I ordered fries with this!'

I'm pretty much a D person. And a D-cup. I need exercise. But before that, nachos. 'Omar, my good man, a can of your finest processed cheese!'

Some days I think "What happened to me"? The person I used to be in times past. When I had time to be, exist. I didn't like myself much then. I was unpopular, different. I liked to read, write. I didn't care for the "popular " culture of the day. Pappagalo, Izod, Top 40. I was ostricized by classmates for being weird and gross. My...
