What is the consensus on the new MIA video?
I think the song is not her best work but the video is thought provoking. Could have done without Mom and Dad getting it on in the beginning but thought from the bus bit on was interesting.
in other vaguely music related news....
I have become exceedingly lazy in finding new music to listen to. I used to actively hunt out new artists and albums. These days I don't know who is coming out with a new album when.
SO....
the next logical step is to have you suggest music for me to listen to.
What am I missing, who should I listen to, and who is going to change my life?
Thank you in advance for all of your awesome, suggestions, comments and playlists.

I agree with your thoughts that it certainly isn't her strongest work.
It is different and a little bit edgy, which does make it interesting. The objection seems have been to make the whole thing thought provoking, successfully done, but I do think that perhaps they tried a touch too hard or just weren't sure how many metaphors/symbolisms to pander to.
In addition to that - I think marketing may have succeeded in creating hype for a song that is generally quite below par. Everyone is talking about the video - we've all heard the song and have an opinion - but it's back to the video, right?
I'm not sure if this will be your cup of tea (as us English often say) but you might like Ian Siegal.
