You know you love looking at all the pretty girls on here and their amazing photo sets, right?
Well, please spare a thought for how much time, effort and money that really goes into a photo shoot!
My own photo shoots go something like this...
1. Deciding who I am going to shoot the set with. This takes alot of research and a TON of emails back and forth deciding on dates, locations, indoors or outdoors, outfits, getting there and back, etc. Sometimes even mood boards put together to show what we are going for in terms of looks, style, lighting, feel, etc.
2. Sorting out outfits this sometimes includes buying new items and accessories and ensuring everything is organised and ready.
3. A few days or weeks prior to the shoot I make sure I have my hair sorted (so this involves ensuring my roots are bleached and toned and my hair dyed and styled correctly), doing my gel manicure, ensuring I'm eating well and exercising well and mentally in the right head space!
4. Making sure I know my route to the photo shoot location and ensuring I will arrive on time. Sometimes even allowing extra time incase of train delays and so forth.
5. PACKING!!! Packing is the part I hate most! Making sure no items get creases whilst in transit. Making lists and checking I have everything I will need. Packing make-up, hair supplies, even double stockings incase one pair rips. Making sure the lingerie I'm taking is photo shoot ready (so nothing old or tatty).
6. Good nights sleep the night before and ensuring I am feeling at my best mentally and physically.
7. Prepping as much as I can before setting off for the shoot so I don't waste any time on set. This usually involves doing my hair and make-up and sometimes even traveling to the photo shoot with my rollers in my hair! Haha!
8. Setting off in good time for the train station. Making sure I've eaten something that is going to fuel my energy but not bloat me out for the photos.
9. Making sure all train connections are caught and no delays to my journey. If something has gone wrong ensuring to contact the photographer (SO REMEMBER TO TAKE CONTACT DETAILS!)
10. Arriving on time and then making our way to the photo shoot location.
11. The photographer has to set up all the lighting (if additional lighting is required) and run off some test shots.
12. I get into my outfit and apply finishing touches to hair and make-up>
13. Discussion about the shots we are aiming to achieve and the looks we are going for.
14. Then finally we start shooting! Sometimes do a few sets in a day because it's good to have variety incase one set does not work out. When shooting I am focusing on getting into the mood and giving it my absolute all. Varying my poses and expressions and thinking about the output. Also concerntrating on where the best light is coming from and how to make it work for me.
15. Taking a break to refuel and look through what we have accomplished.
16. Shooting some more.
17. Pack up time which can take anything from 30 minutes to 1 hour.
18. Going home.
19. Unpacking everything.
20. Emails and further contact deciding on the shots we are going to use for a set.
21. The editing process (can take anything from a couple of days to an entire 2 weeks...) I edit alot of my own sets so I know just how much work goes into it. The editing process is extremely tedious and I like to pay attention to the finest of detail ensuring my sets are as perfect as can be before submission. For example the set I'm editing now I have already been editing over a course of ONE WEEK!
22. FINALLY uploading the set and paper work and submitting to Suicide Girls!
23. Awaiting a response if the set has been accepted or not.
24. Receiving the date for release.
So, there you have it guys! That is what really goes into shooting a set for Suicide Girls! I hope you truly appreciate what we all do here and how much time and effort we dedicate to bringing you mind blowing images :)
I love it and wouldn't have it any other way! The satisfaction you receive when finally completing a set is fantastic. And seeing how much you guys appreciate the images and seeing the lovely comments you guys make makes it even more worth while <3
Over and out...
