Your dad went to Pennfield HS long after I graduated from BC Central HS.

When I was working my way through grad school, I worked with bricklayers on one of the schools in Pennfield.

I had lots of cousins who went to Pennfield schools, and your dad may have known Bernice Steemsma, who worked in the HS office--at least I think it was in the HS.

Small world.

I'm going to be the first biologically-propelled person in space!

Wish me luck on the ISS!

Aw, too bad. Good for you all... I'm just trying to make a move somewhere. Portland seems interesting... but I have a lot to learn about moving and places, at least, before doing it.

Job? Hah, yeah, a job'd be nice.

I saw and met Kimya Dawson tonight and understood her perfectly. 100%. So much for my last entry.

Such a rare, gentle person with tremendous talent. And it turns out she's been playing some shows with a guy -- Paul Baribeau -- from Grand Haven (the old domicile) who played a show with me and my old band two Halloweens ago. Weird, huh? I love...

Yo M, the poem on Les's page is way beautiful. It's obvious that Bobby D. rubbed off on you the other nightwink

In other new, I was briefly possessed by the dark lord and he made me buy another acoustic guitar. Pics in my journal. Yummy.

How's the building coming along? You've secured the space now, correct?

My contractor bumped into a guy downtown the other day who's 1) an acoustic designer 2) built several studios 3) is an HVAC specialist 4) is a contractor who's worked in Portland for some time and 5) is completely down to earth and cool to talk to. He's going to assist with the design and planning on my studio and also help me get all of my stuffs approved by Portland so that all construction's legit. Yippee!

I've been having trouble understanding English lately. All spoken or sung language, as a matter of fact. Written is just fine. Perhaps it's just on television where eveyone shouts to be understood, as if shouting makes one's speech more coherent. Seriously, I think I've been watching far too much television. It's making me spinal. Am I gonna see God, Mommy?

I need to stop watching...

Amen. I'm still looking for good chinese though...it seems elusive and everyone just kind of shrugs when asked where it is... Sad.

Yup, pretty much. Jason will do some engraving, I might be able to sell some art.. Besides that, we intend on being fully self-sufficient: No electricity, no runnng water, growing/raising/hunting/foraging for our food. The whole works.

I still haven't had a chance to do the test painting.. Last thing I wanted was to risk making my migraine worse.

Hope you have a good week! kiss

Long week ahead with construction related stuff. Yay. I just can't wait to get to work making records - the waiting and anticipation are driving me mad.

Nothing more exciting than that. I've been studying up on acoustics and "green" construction techniques constantly. Oh, and I've also been shopping for kitchen appliances. HOORAY surreal

But I'm still having fun..... biggrin

This weekend it's Bobby (and MAYBE Willie)...

Now that I'm officiallly leasing a building (!!!!!), I will be extaordinarily busy the next few months with an extreme rennovation and ultimately a business launch. This means woefully less time here.

Please note:

I do not hate you. I'm merely obsessing over a capitalist dream.

Lots of love,

mikael

On much happier note:

Les rolled into town this morning and will be here for the weekend, which shall include The Portland International Beer Festival, Willy Wonka, and possibly a show or two.

I was forced to buy new glasses...
