Not so good AL...
Yeah, well, so the project was due on tuesday. I had like less than three days to make my first game in Structures Of Game Design. I got alot of it done. Unfortunately, I had a few set backs and did not finish the game in it's entirety. So now, I am on my new project. This time I have two weeks. Needless to say, I am going to work my ass off.
The theme you ask? A top down zombie survival game. I have certain features in mind but the basic gist of the game is defend your base at night. Find survivors and resources in the day. I might not even do the base defense if I find that things are more time consuming than I had hoped. I am keeping it very simple until I get a feel for things.
The first things on my check list are:
Code a animation viewer that will also double as getting my animation script reading function to work.
Create a map scripting language so that I can make maps in text files.
Create a sample level that scrolls as I move and has basic environmental collision detection.
Finish more of my simple yet functional hand made sprites.
Create a menu system that draws on top of the game while not stopping the game.
Yeah, there are even more things to do but I am going to start with these. I want to be done with these by sometime tomorrow or the next day.
For now some sleep though. It's hard to work on less than 4 hours sleep.
