Just came up with an awesome sign for a Slutwalk! Too bad I've missed the one that happened in Montreal in the spring.
I've always been appalled at how girls are conditioned by their own families and society at large to be defenseless and forced to conform to other stereotypes that do nothing but limit them for the sake of the sexually unsatisfied control freaks who mostly seem to comprise the powers that be. So I came up with something that would challenge that along with the whole 'the slut was asking for it' mentality.
A question to rapists - if you had to choose between a big male slut (inappropriately dressed and very promiscuous) and an average woman in everyday clothing, who would you choose as your target?
I hope the question is not rhetorical but I fear it is. And this is what's the most troubling about the way society perceives rape and rape victims.
Pics to be posted soon and I'll be sure to try and diffuse the idea for the sign as much as possible - people should stop saying that a girl is more likely to be raped simply for what she is and take action to prevent such bullshit instead of just pitying victims after the fact (or even worse, stigmatize them based simply on the rags they were wearing when it happened).
Peace out, mofos, and the war goes on.
