Got the new B&H catalog today from a friend. Very exiting. Reading it is becoming a new hobby.
Looking for new studio and lighting equipment in an attempt to do more portrait and product shooting. We're currently using all kinds of crazy stunts with foam board and crappy fluorescent light. Hell we don't even have a decent tripod. We've been using boxes and other crazy contrivances to steady and rest the cameras.
They got everything from umbrellas, softboxes, riggings, every light imaginable etc... I'm putting together a wish list for all the accessories. Including 3 backdrops and 1 chroma backdrop with the support rigging. I'd like to get it all into 3 mobile bags/cases for offside location shoots.
In the meantime I need to work on more technique, understanding light, shadow and allot of basics I had forgotten in so many years I'm almost embarased to admit. So long ago that I got darkroom experience. Almost no one I know does anything with darkrooms any more. It's all photoshop.
