I don't know how to begin saying this but there is no right way to start so here it is. I recently lost a friend to AIDS who was the first boyfriend my bestfriend had when he came out of the closet. I knew this person was HIV Positive but I never told my friend to stop seeing him just told him that he needs to be careful and responsible. He was a scared on whether he should not see him . Because he was still dealing with himself being gay it was kind of hard for him to deal with his boyfriend being positive. I have always been an advocate for HIVAIDS so I explained to him that his boyfriend having this doesnt change the type of person . and that he is still the same person he fell for and admired. This was about 6 years ago .I lost contact with both since but I would also see this guy Robert out in the clubs and knew he fighting for his life. Although most of the time he was a jerk to me his passing is saddening.
I have not seen my former bestfriend in years nor do we talk but I wonder if he knows his first boyfriend just passed away. Robert was only 31.. he would do drag shows so his stage name was Selena. .lol.. he introduced to a lot of funny queens.
Lets all remember to be safe in everything we do!!!

Sorry to hear about your friend...My piano teacher has aids and I've seen the struggles that confront them on a daily basis, such a terrible illness.
