It's been a week, so I guess I'll write some more stuff.
It was a pretty breezy week, I guess. My last day of work here in Plattsburgh was on the 10th, so I've not been working since then. Most of my time at home has been spent scouring Craigslist, newspapers, and other outlets to try and find some places to live in the Bristol area.
I went out to Philadelphia for a day or so this week to see my good buddy Rich, who took me around to see a couple of apartments that I had made appointments with. They were okay. One was a room in a house, which was nice... but a bit farther from work than I had expected. The other one was a tiny basement efficiency which, while closer to work, was farther from the Ring of Honor Wrestling Academy. Plus, it was just... sort of depressing. A basement efficiency with low ceilings and no windows. I could probably have put up with it for six months, but he would only do a year lease.
Dejected, we drove back to Rich's place. I hopped on Craigslist again to see if there was anything new and good posted. I stumbled onto a place offering rooms for $150/week with all utilities included. It's very close to both work AND the ROH Academy, so it sounds like a perfect match. Available to move in immediately.
I spoke to him once that night (Thursday), but he didn't have the address on hand. I called back the next day and got no answer, and finally got him earlier today. Got the address and found out that he's set to close on purchasing the house tomorrow night, so I should call him tomorrow night or Monday morning to finalize it. So, hopefully, I've got a place to live.
Later on Thursday night, Rich and I headed to South Street. We stopped into a record store called Repo Records where I picked up the new Chuck Ragan and The Good Life albums. The Good Life is pretty depressing to listen to alone on a bus-ride... it's also sort of alarming how I can kind of relate to every song on the album. All of the lyrics just seem to... I don't know. Describe everything. Perfectly. I won't go on a spree and post all of the lyrics here or anything, but if you want to check 'em out, the album is called "Help Wanted Nights." Chuck Ragan is also really, really good. I love it. The last album I bought was the new Against Me!, and before that I'm pretty sure it was the new Brand New. I rarely ever buy new music, but I think I just remembered how awesome it is to have a new album to sit down and listen to the entire way through.
And... that's where this will have to end. Just got a call to go join some folks out having a good time. So, no more sitting around alone with depressing (although great) music while I just think and sulk all night. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I fucking love my friends to death.
Maybe I'll write more tomorrow.
i don't believe we need love to succeed, but the least you could do is pretend.
