Today is my 21st birthday.

It's also my four-year anniversary at SuicideGirls.

(Yes, I joined the site illegally. But that's another matter completely.)

Wow.

Time is a miraculous thing.

In other news, I have beautiful friends. Today, I am very very grateful for all the love I feel.

I remember that girl from four years ago, different but no less remarkably interesting.

Apparently, I am pictured in the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine. What's funny is that I am watching Kanye West, and, it's like, six in the morning. If you haven't already heard the controversy surrounding his performance at Bonnaroo, I suggest you do your research.

Long live Bonnaroo, my temporary yellow hair and matching yellow sun smock, and Carrie's three-hour-long romance, now forever immortalized...

According to Alice Cooper, school's out for the summer. Growing up, my dad used to blast that song for me and Shan on every last day of school.

The last days of my sophomore year were a chaotic blur. Joel visited my last weekend in Athens, and it was a fun-filled and long-awaited reunion. I ran into the street and gave him such a loving,...

Music festival is definitely the way to end the year - it must have just been such a liberating feeling to go on a road trip that you planned and you ran. I was far too exhausted post exams to even think about doing anything but moving out and driving back home.

Now you've got the summer, work and some much needed time off. Enjoy it, make the most of it. Junior year of college is usually difficult but I dont know if that's the case for you. I'm heading into the hardest 2 semesters of my life starting in September - and then after those I've got another 2 semesters worth of classwork to go.

This entry looks like it took at least an hour and a half to write, not including the photo uploads.

yr writing is always amazing. i miss yr presence here.

Dismiss the endless frustration.

The ground covered is vast. And although I feel like I begin each little update of my life in the same fashion, it goes without saying that I've neglected journaling, in all forms, for far too long. Damn it, I'm supposed...

you've been really busy to say the least.

i had a pharmacy practice management course last semester which was a total waste of everyone's time and is just so stupid that i dont want to talk about it.

and grilled cheese is amazing too. i forgot how good it was until i ordered it at a diner a few months back.

knowing how to use a film camera really is pretty neat stuff - film itself really is slowly becoming a lost art and it's really something to know how everything used to be done before the days of digital.

I'm jealous that you are going to more music festivals this summer, but I wish you a great time! I was not particularly impressed with this year's Coachella line-up, and my friend who I went with last year (then he left after the first day), my only option for a companion, is still anti-social and hates music. Go him. So, I'm staying put.

If remote, computer-based hugs counted (sending you one now), you'd be set. smile

I don't understand why happy things end. I was happy. I was happy despite all surfaces. Despite all pettiness. Despite secrets. And it ended. And there is so much to say, but it's really not worth explaining to strangers or even non-strangers. An audience of pity is not what I need. Friends are few and far between but sometimes they show up when everyone has...

So McCain got New Hampshire. I am not pleased. He appears to be one sly mother fucker. Sure he's "sweet." Sure he's old. Sure he smiles a lot and has a soft, soothing voice. Sure he goes on MTV and tries to be Cool McCoolers. Sure he says he's a moderate. Behind closed doors he votes straight ticket republican and kisses Dubya's ass with fruit...

I think all the candidates suck but I'm voting for Clinton just because I think she has the best chance of winning out of all the anti-war candidates.

I had a minor in Sociology. It's interesting stuff.

Beautiful photographs! I will have to check out your flickr site soon.

Kings of Leon - saw them at Coachella last summer, kind of cool, bought their album, wasn't that impressed.

I'm not sure if you've heard of Immaculate Machine, but I would recommend taking a listen to their covers. I think they might suit your refined taste in music.

Five days until Christmas. It's difficult to grasp. I have had plenty of somber, un-festive moments lately, so it seems surreal that Christmas is so damn soon. I have a lot of shopping left to do. I have Christmas cards to mail. I have presents to wrap. I have a half headache and a supreme lack of motivation. I want Christmas cookies. I am restless...

At this point, I have been on holiday break for approximately 11 days. One of the perks of attending THEE Ohio University is that winter break is about 7 weeks long. Normally I would type out the word for the number 7, but it's break which means I don't give two shits about such scholastic accuracies. Ah.

I have very little to show for the...

I definitely think that looking back in the past is the best way to start anything where you're looking inside and trying to improve. It's important to understand why things worked out as they did, just for the fact that it does bring some closure - a sense of it at least.

Some classes are just going to suck like that history class you took. Considering the circumstances it worked out pretty decent in the end. There will always be those classes that stick out in infamy because they were just hellish - I've got 4 semesters in so far and have 4 such classes that just plain sucked and I hated though I had to take them. This also reminds me of something that I'm running into myself - the sooner the GPA goes below 4.0 the better, since it means much less pressure on you now. Maintaining mine was the source of a lot of stress and freaking out on my part in the beginning of the semester and I have since conceded to less studying to preserve my sanity and to just do as well as I can. Easier said than done.

I am losing my mind at times, it seems. Waste of space. That's what this is. Beware.

I digress. If you stumbled upon this, and you're intrigued, read it. I feel as though I owe explanations. They are past-due. And you are my counterparts, so I care. I consider you someone of importance.

Autumn quarter flew by. Two more weeks and it's back home to...

I am feeling better than I was in my last post. Some time has passed, and I have both grieved and reflected. Recent events had left me feeling wrecked and isolated. Rinse and repeat. Nothing will ever replace the presence of my beloved pets. When I greet my humble home next month for the holidays, the barren feeling will be there. I know this. It's...

Monday was very difficult for me. This is not going to be an eloquent posting. I'm not going to try to sound colorful. It's not going to be fun to read. It's not fun for me to write. But I have to. I feel a tremendous amount of grief. And guilt.

My cats have been ill for some time. I had four cats: Sebastian, Kiefer,...

My condolences. Though time will eventually heal your wounds, I know you must be going through a very difficult time right now. Perhaps school is just the distraction you need to ease you into accepting their passing to a better place. I'm sure both of them sensed your great love for them and loved the time you spent together.
elsie:
I'm so sorry. I have the same feelings that you have about family pets and it saddens me to think the dog I've had since I was 7 years old will not be living much longer.

On a happier note, I am definitely interested in shooting with you in the spring. I'm definitely willing to wait! I'll be looking forward to it!

Oh me, oh my. What little I have updated regarding college and the like. I will refrain from ranting. I will avoid a hugely descriptive narrative. It is past my bedtime, and I have miles to go before I sleep. I will simply say that things are fine.

Classes are what they will be -- tedious, time-consuming, and triumphant at times, but more so disappointing....

i live in an on-campus apartment this year and there is a bit of a sense of independence to it. it really felt neat going there for the first time nearly a month ago.

ive also got my car on campus, which has also proven to be valuable. useful for trips to walmart, white castle and the like. ive slowly learned the roads around school [the local roads and how to get to the major highways], and there are a lot of shopping centers and restaurants nearby. it's also helpful when going out with SGNJ, much better than having to rely on others for rides.

i recently got some interpol and really like listening to it, though unfortunately my music listening time has been rather short as of late.

you live in a really neat dorm. 24 hour quiet hours really are amazing, since the dorms on the other rutgers campuses near me can get pretty loud...
