First Blog Post
Well I figure that I'll jump into the SG community head first and throw up a first blog post right away. I'm going to take this opportunity to just tell you all a little about myself.
The Vanilla:
My name is Jon and I'm 24 years old. I live in New York's Lower East Side, around about Allen and Houston streets. I moved here from Baltimore, Maryland last summer to go to grad school at The New School and my masters degree in Nonprofit Management.
My passion is helping NGOs accomplish their social change goals through the application of sound management theory and strategic planning. I've consulted for a number of different NGOs of various sized and in a number of different areas of expertise. Currently I'm consulting for a small arts alliance in Brooklyn to redevelop their strategic plan. After I finish my masters degree I'll likely continue consulting, though I may try and seek employment with a large consulting firm that specialized in nonprofit issues or has a nonprofit division.
The Dirty:
Aside from the public and professional side of my being I'm a bit more interesting. Firstly, I'm an avid tattoo collector and have one half sleeve completed and the other in progress. I also have tattoos on my chest and one side of my ribcage. Most of my tattoos are from old school flash, with the exception of my 2 candy skulls which are both fully custom works of art.
Now for the kinky bits. I'm an active member of the FetLife community, and enjoy many aspects of the fetish lifestyle on occasion. I'm a big fan of fire play, bondage, and suspension, though I've never been suspended myself...afraid of needles lol.
What else? Oh yeah, I've recently gotten into costuming and costume parties. I'm a member of a group in New York called Kostume Kult that throws and attends costume parties, raves, and public costume events like SantaCon and the Greenwich Village Halloween Party. They also build a camp at Burning Man every year, and this year will be my first year attending, so I'll probably camp with them. I'm really excited about Burning Man.
I guess that's enough about me for now. The 2 or 3 people that may stumble across this and read it now know more about me than most people do.
