I am in such an incredibly great mood! I had forgotten just how wonderful a simple ride into work could be. I usually try to ride all winter, with the exception of temps below 20F and/or ice or snow on the roads. Most winters around here, that means a week or two at the most without riding. This winter has been horrid! Very cold, lots of snow and ice, I've hardly ridden at all!
Today, though, it was already over 50F when I left home for work. It's supposed to get to near 70F! The roads were wet from rain yesterday and last night, and god knows what kind of slippery crap is still on them from the winter, so I took it easy. But, I rode. It was a joy.
As some of you know, I've been losing weight. I'm down about 70 pounds. It feels great, but every 7 pounds of reduced weight on the bike also translates into the equivalent of 1 additional horsepower. That means I've gained 10 horsepower. Maybe it's all in my head, but I swear I can feel the difference in acceleration.
What a great frickin' day!
