It's been forever since I've posted a blog, because I either haven't had time or simply lacked the inspiration. Since I now have both I'd like to oblige.
The subject matter of this blog has to do with conspiracy thinking and progressive change on our planet earth. These are topics that I spent many years researching, brought on by my suffering with OCD, and the desire to find answers to create a better world.
A popular online documentary titled Thrive, has been permeating the consciousness of online seekers of progressive change for the past six month or so, since it was released on "11:11". The ideas presented in this documentary are nothing new, as it more or less a sleeker version of Zeitgeist, which it in itself was also nothing new to those familiar with the new age movement and global conspiracy thinking. Let me first say that I am without doubt in favor of doing whatever is necessary to create a more environmentally/economically sustainable & peaceful planet to live on, but it is frustrating to see so many people who share that view fall victim to the type of conspiracy thinking and preposterous claims represented in films like the Thrive Movement.
Without writing too much more, because I could go on forever, I just wanted to share an short paper written by John Robbins (who was featured in the film), signed by 10 others also represented in some way in the film, who have dissociated themselves from the conclusions drawn by the filmmakers in the final conclusion of the project. I was overwhelming pleased to read what he had written, as it only vindicates my views that have been growing over the past several years as we approach 2012 and more and more people jump onto the new age bandwagon.
It's possible to think for yourself and not share the ideas of all the other hippies and new age thinkers who are supposedly the ones who have "woken up" and are free from "mental slavery". It doesn't make me part of some global conspiracy to take over and control the world, it only means I am a free thinking individual who after having done his own research, has chosen to dissociate himself with the conclusions drawn by such films.
To sort of change tone a bit... Being yourself doesn't mean you can't share views or do certain things that a large flock of other people do - there is nothing wrong with that. I love how this site is about alternative beauty, and I think the women on here are sexy as hell. But at the same time I'm actually a pretty quiet guy who isn't really part of the party/rock type of scene anymore.. which maybe a lot of people on here are. I've wrote other blog posts about why I disagree with and no longer smoke weed or do any other drugs. Does it make me some mainstream sheep following the herd because I "say no" to drugs, and choose to believe the mainstream media report of 9/11 over the idea that the US government secretly planned the whole thing so that some group of bankers could take over and control the world? No. It's called having personal integrity and making my own choices.
Sorry if this blog posting was a bit here and there, but part of the reason I don't blog much here is I don't really know how to word things properly. In reality this is mostly just a site to showcase hot pin up girls, but at the same time a community of great people that I want to share deep ideas with.

lucine:
It doesn't make you mainstream by saying No to drugs, for the mere fact that it's a lot easier to say yes and just do it. I think it's wonderful that you want to change the planet, but in order to do something that monumental you would need everyone one on your side thinking the same way you do. I mean you can always do your part but really what dent is an individual really making?
