I know I havent put much up lately, but its been busy. I am reworking the story I was putting together and started on something else that I have been wanting to work on lately. Speaking of that, here is the prologue to this story, I warn you all now, I could post chapters of either story as i complete them. It could get messy. Hope you enjoy and I hope a few people read.
Prologue
Rebecca's shift was nearly over and just as always, one more customer managed to slip into her section just before quitting time. She looked over at him but found nothing remarkable about him. He was tall and had a scruffy shadow over his face. He wasn't particularly attractive, nor was he a hideous creature. The man seemed to be ageless. He could have just as easily been forty as he could have been twenty. It was slightly odd to her. Had it not been for the bright green eyes behind small, square glasses, she might not have even noticed him.
Those eyes, every time she turned to walk away from the table she could feel them on her. She didn't mind though. It was rare she felt noticed these days, ever since Eric had left her. The truckers that normally came into the diner were of no interest to her. They were all dirty and overweight and couldn't seem to keep their grubby digits off of her. These new eyes though, she liked the attention they were giving her. It wasn't like she was a model by any sorts, but the more she thought about those lovely greens, she began to feel like one.
When she went to get the gentleman's third cup of coffee, she undid two of the buttons on her blouse and when she came back to the his table she made sure to lean forward a little further to give him a glimpse of what was hidden. "Can I get you anything else?" she asked with a flirtatious smile. She couldn't even begin to understand what had come over her. It was as if she wasn't herself anymore.
The man smiled and those green eyes looked deep into hers. "Some company maybe. I've been traveling a lot and haven't had even a half-way normal conversation in a while."
She sat down across from him without hesitation and smiled at him. "Traveling to where?" She asked.
"Nowhere in particular, you might call it a vision quest of sorts." He took a sip of the hot coffee and then added sugar.
"So you're just roaming then? What is today's destination then?"
"Like I said, I don't really have one. I think I may stay in town for the night, get some rest."
"Here? There isn't much around here, mister, most people just pass through. The nearest hotel that's worth a damn is about twenty miles away still."
He smiled and looked deep into her with those green eyes again, like he was peering straight into her soul. "Then can I stay with you?"
"Yes." She answered without hesitation. Her cheeks heated up and turned red when she realized what she had just said. She felt like an out of control teenager, begging to defy her mother for holding her back from whatever life had had in store for her. "It's already past time for my shift to end. You were the only thing keeping me here, but if you're ready to go" she bit her lip, still shocked by what she was saying.
"Well then, if you don't mind, lead the way."
There was a pause, a single, brief hesitation from Rebecca. "What's your name stranger?"
"Damien." He took her hand and kissed it playfully.
Rebecca lived down a dusty, barren road in a little and completely unimpressive trailer. The ride had taken no more than twenty minutes down the interstate and was an intense experience to say the least. Damien had asked her if he could drive, and again without hesitation, she had obliged. All she could think about was the animalistic urges that were building up inside her. It was all she could do to keep her hands off of him and even with the breathing exercises she found her hand often gripping his thigh, kneading it.
It had been a long since she had been with a man, that she understood, but what confused her was that there had been attractive men that had come into the diner times before and she had not jumped them previously. This was a first. An eternity passed while she dug in her purse to get her keys and then another while she fidgeted with the lock and opened the door. The thing barely got closed behind them.
She tore at his close, her mouth devoured him. Even a growl had managed to escape her lips. He just smiled. There was no stopping her, she took control, took what she wanted and let a rational thought cross her mind. This went on for hours.
That evening they lay in the bed, the sheets barely covering them as they smoked cigarettes and caught their breath. They laughed, they kissed and they took pleasure in each others company. Then they did it all over again, staining sheets, putting holes in the walls and causing escalated, sexual mayhem.
Rebecca awoke the next morning with a cat like stretch, kicking her legs out and arching her back. It had been a long time since she had slept that well. The right side of the bed was empty, but she only noticed because she had been sleeping on the left. She always slept in the middle. As strange as it was though, it didn't bother her, not until she realized that she was naked. She glanced under her sheets, definitely naked. She never slept naked, which only meant one thing. She looked at the clock. "Shit, I'm late!"
She got up and quickly reassembled her uniform. It was scattered across the trailer. What had happened last night? Who had been there? There was no time to piece together the puzzle right now though. She slammed the door behind her and locked it. Peering out across the nothing all around her, she realized one thing that disturbed her. Her truck was gone.
