Getting psyched for the Jets-Patriots game tonight.

Let's hope the Jets win decisively and silence all the doubters who think their 9- 2 record is some kind of fluke.

They lost 45-3! I can't believe how bad they played.

Don't know anything about games and stuff but thanks for your comment on my set smile

How about those Jets? Scoring a touchdown with 10 seconds left to pull off yet another improbable win!

I decided to participate in National Novel Writing Month, the once a year event in which authors attempt to write a 50,000 word manuscript in the allotted time of 30 days.

It's sort of a competition, but no one judges the entries' quality. You win just by writing 50,000 words. There are free goodies for winning, but basically it's something you do just for the...

I don't know when it happened, but, at some point, people stopped trying to write the Great American Novel and started trying to write the Great American Screenplay. They were attracted, no doubt, by the lure of fast money. But, then, what American isn't?

Then, one day, the spec script boom went bust. So called "pre-sold properties," such as sequels, remakes, TV show and and...

One is more likely to be hit by a vehicle while walking than to write a best-selling novel. I know because I'm one of those fools. I blame Stephen King. He did both. I also blame Stephenie Myers. The hack.

It doesn't matter what you write, just write. I can't remember who said it but it went like this: I don't write for other people, I write what I would want to read. Just like screenplays, editors rape the written manuscript. Business always trumps the Arts. One can't escape that in any field. But the concept is wrong. Never set out typing for greatness. That ruins the art before it starts. Just write. I have stayed my hand from writing or making that first brush stroke because, in my mind, I decided this would be the ONE. Lofty aspirations sets unneeded high expectations. Most of the time you don't have to aim that high.

That said, I need to take my own advice. I have been to concerned with writing the great one that I haven't written (or created) at all. I've got the ideas. I just need to enact them.

Today, May 29, is Max Brand's birthday. The creator of such classic characters as Dr. Kildare and Whistlin' Dan Barry was born this day in 1892.

I encourage you to pick up one of his books. You'll be glad you did.

The producer decided to let someone else write the example episode. Nevertheless, he said his people liked the breakdown I wrote and he will keep me in mind as a writer if the show ever gets picked up.

A producer, perusing the listings on inktip.com, saw a synopsis I wrote, liked my writing, and wants me to write an episode for a proposed TV show.

This may will lead to something. You never know.

WriteMovies posted the winners today. I didn't win, but then I didn't really expect to. Still, I was in the top 20 out of 1000 entries and that's not bad.
