I'm guilty of this as well but holy cow how is it possible that our government gets away with as much as they do. As I said, I'm guilty of this but we just aren't paying attention to what the government is doing to us. Case in point, somewhere about two years ago, they passed a federal law that certain job classifications and/or over a certain amount of pay per hour they do not have to pay overtime anymore.
Bottom line our government has allowed companies to completely screw us when we take those overtime shifts to pull in extra money to be able to afford to take care of our families.
Our president has taken liberties granted during war time to extend power he shouldn't have now. They are slowly chipping away at our freedoms they deem wrong. One of many things, I'm not a smoker nor do I advocate smoking but I disagree that the government should dictate whether smoking is allowed in a private business. However, there are numerous studies outlining the bad of second hand smoking and still others that show that it isn't as hazardous as they say. Our lives are dictated by politicians that for the most part have zero concept of what it is like to just barely keep your head above water in the real world of supporting yourself and family.
Back on topic, how is it fair that calling someone a network engineer vs. a network admin means they don't have to pay you overtime? I think this is something we really need to watch closer and make the government understand that it isn't right that they limit hard working people to be able to properly provide for their family but spending time away to make extra money.
