I was in rapture yesterday. Went to the James Michenar Museum to see the "Offering of the Angels: Treasures from the Uffizzi Gallery" exhibit.

Wow.

Lately I have been seeing a lot of late 19th early 20th century art and the "Visions of Arcadia" exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art but the Uffizzi Gallery show was 1500's to 1600's art in all its majesty....

Had a great inspection tour of Virginia Beach, VA. Nice town, way too hot. Friday night got a yen for some real BBQ, something you cannot readily get up north. So I drove an hour to Currituck, NC and had some awesome BBQ. Well worth the trip.

Heading to Roanoke in a couple of weeks and then back to Virginia Beach.

Looking forward to this weeks business trip to Maryland. Among other things will be great eating at:

G&M Restaurant

Timbuktu

&

Walt's Crab Shack!

Oh... I'll probably get some work done too. Perhaps....Maybe....
mandajune:
That was very sweet and sincere, just the thing I needed to hear.

Ooh I miss G&M!

The one task of homeownership I hate the most. Painting. I had thought (hoped) that painting the porch ceiling and the trim would take one day. Now it looks like two days. Ugh! I hate painting with a passion.mad

Yesterday (Thursday) was spent in Bel Air, MD for work. The temperature was 70 degrees. Beautiful day. Rejuvenating day. Next two (2) weeks going back to Maryland, looking forward to more great weather.

Today is the big game. The best part will be the awesome quantities of great food (I am contributing the chome made chili I must bring every year) I haven't eaten since friday in preparation for this event! The betting pool will make a few people a good bit of cash.

We were almost snow-less here in VA (btw: that snow we did get lasted about 24 hours then the sun came out and stole it)!

We had snow yesterday. Took me all of 15 minutes to shovel it. Do I reeally need to spend hundreds ona snow blower for one to three uses a year and then have to store it all year?

Joe Paterno died. No matter what good he did for 62 years at Penn State all his obituaries will begin and end with the sex abuse scandal....

Happy New Year to all.

I spent the weekend seeing two films. Warhorse - an awesome film. Spielberg is at the top of his game. A wonderful, beautiful work. Then, The Debt - a decent little film with Helen Mirren. The rest of the time was spent eating. Way too much.
