Ahhh,,,,,

Well that was one relaxing weekend. I took off on friday, and E and I went to Atlantic City. Despite getting my ass handed to me at the blackjack tables and the rain, we had a great time. We spent the rest of the long weekend making crepes, going for super-long bike rides, dog-sitting, going to a BBQ, watching movies, and generally not getting...

Ahh... so I went to Cape Cod this weekend for E's sister's wedding. Fun in the sun, long bike rides, dark skies at night, and delicious, delicious crustaceans. Who could ask for more? E is still there, alas, and I am back here. The universe isn't going to study itself, you know!

So Ned Lamont handed Lieberman's (and by extension, Bush's) ass to him in the Democratic primary yesterday. Take that! all of you "there's no real difference between the two parties" people. Oh yeah? On issues like the war, abortion, equal rights, civil liberties, minimum wage, and tax policy, you better believe there are huge differences.

And when someone like Lieberman starts scolding the Democratic party...

Greetings from the Netherlands!

I. I freakin' love this place!
A) I love the fact that there are dedicated bike lanes everywhere, and EVERYBODY rides.
B) I love the the signs on every building display an almost casual disregard for their own liberalness.
C) I love the pancakes
D) I love the canals
E) Okay, I admit it, I love the windmills.
II. For those...

The insurance company thing died in the ass, but my gynaecologist arranged a surgery date for me on the 17th of this month. So just over a week till the day. Hopefully all works out for me.

So can you believe it? I've been dating E for almost 6 months now, and she had never been to my observatory. Well, that was finally remedied tonight. Jupiter, a couple of globulars, and M57 all looked stunning, as did Albireo.

Go team science!

Ahh... so nice to be home. E and I went up to her friend's lake house this weekend. It was beautiful and peaceful, and a whole lot of fun. Still, there's something very nice about being in one's own home with one's own dog. Of course, I have to go to own's own work tomorrow, too.

Not a new set, just some pics I took on my way out the door. I have my first "official" photo shoot scheduled on August 17th.

P.S. By "official" I mean I am not doing it myself and a friend is not doing it for me.
mellylou:
hahaha
so you loved the antique scope then smile
I find men find it intimidating a lot of the time frown

E and I are off to her friend's lake house this weekend!

Yay roadtrip!

Other than that, not too much going on. I got a new grill and grilled thte hell out of it on the 4th. Also, my beagle met another beagle friend and they chased each other around the house. It was awesome.

So E and I saw An Inconvenient Truth last night. Now, I've always tried to be a good boy -- I ride my bike everywhere, use wind power, recycle, compost, don't eat red meat, and so on, and I know enough to not really be surprised by anything that Al had to say. But still, it's really powerful.

Powerful enough that I'm still thinking about...

So today, my friends, I did something magnanimous. I went into the Jerz. Collingswood to be precise.

My good friend moved to the burbs upon getting married, and I decided to suck it up and head out there for a day of suburban fun. And suburban fun was had! We played putt-putt golf, drove places that were only a few blocks away (because of the...

I'm okay. Thanks for your concern. I just had one of those moments when you realize that you are not always safe and that just because you know someone, it doesn't mean you can trust them. Hard lesson to learn.

I'm not a fan of the SG4.0 either. It makes my brain go fuzzy.
I've been around. Forming the incredible clique North Side Lolitas (www.northsidelolitas.com), and putting the smack down on those who are undeserving.

Seriously, am I the only one who is practically giddy with anticipation for the new Superman movie?

Evil doesn't bother me. I'm actually pro-evil. My boyfriend, actually, is quite evil (even if only by name, for he is Satan son of Satan when you think about it), and I have yet to see the downside of being his womern. I'm an equal-opportunity fangirl, when it comes right down to it.

my new school finally sent me the actual texts i'll be teaching out of... NO SWEAT! i don't know what i was worried about.

the physics text is the Hewitt Conceptual book which i've already been teaching out of for three years. the space science class is based on "this new ocean" which i read in college.

i feel like i'm made in the shade. hooray.

i still might call upon your help for fluids and magnetism though. smile i'll keep you posted.
