So it looks as though my dad's surgery will be later this month. It's a meningioma, which tend to be benign, though they push on the brain and have to be removed. I'm still pretty anxious about the surgery, but I've been feeling reassured after hearing stories from many people about their relatives' successful brain surgeries.

Definitely keep us posted. I'm sure he will be fine, but I'm sure until all is said and done, everyone is going to be uneasy.

My legal advice is...do not commit crimes.

But if you do, make sure you do them in Worcester county.

Looks like a tryptamine related compound, I guess that explains the toad.

I'm really not sure about the postdoc thing. On the one hand it would be great to be able to really get into a particular research project and study it for a few years. On the other hand I'm really just tired as hell of being poor and feeling like I'm still "a kid" (meaning working irregular hours, no money, crappy apartment, etc.) So I don't know. I'm considering checking out the consulting thing as well. Or maybe getting into biotech venture capitol.

Nope. I knit them with lace yarn and size zero needles.

back to the tran tran

I had this nice multicolored yarn, and I decided to make a spiral scarf. So I did. Unfortunately, as I was almost done, I realized that the mostly-brown colors of the yarn made the scarf look quite intestinal.

Do I want a tripe scarf? I can't decide whether to unravel it or to embrace the colon-scarf-wearing weirdo within.

what should...
