Brian lost the money order for the move in costs. It fell out of his backpack while he was biking to the place to turn it in. We now have no apartment, no money to pay my current landlords to stay, and no money to buy food. I am so incredibly angry right now.

Since you already do lots of walking, you could look for the book, Heavyhands. It is, basically, a power walking system...when you add some weight to your hands, you'll be working your upper body muscles, too.
I think a new book comes with a starter set of hand weights. It did when the book first came out, anyway.
If not any more, a fitness store should have them. You can use 1lb soup cans (unopened) until you find the proper weights. Just don't injure yourself by trying to do too much, too soon.
