For the Latino/a collection of photographs, I think I finally have a title for it, which is "Barely Legal". I think that this an appropriate title (even though some people think of the Hustler magazine when I told them the title) but I think it works. The people that I am photographing are people who stereotyped as uneducated, illegal immigrants who are criminals and drug pushers. However, in reality, some families have been here for generations, while others are here on student visas and other permits to earn degrees from universities, being an undergraduate degree or a graduate degree. Also, the traditions that people feel are still current, and what they believe that the Latino community still do or practice are false and are pushed by Hollywood and other mainstream media that pigeonholes an entire ethnic group into falsehoods that must be overcome.
So far, here is the full collection.
