It's harder to ignore that kind of thing when it comes from those you love, but you have to remind yourself that you are never going to please everyone when it comes to how you look. As long as you are happy with your choices, then that's all that should matter.

But really, I've never understood why people get so worked up/judgemental over something as basic as how you choose to adorn yourself. It's even worse that people feel like they have a right to make a comment on it as if to suggest you change.

If life doesn't change for you, sometimes you just have to take it by the horns. I think it's admirable to be bold enough to do that. Many people are bored with life, or how they look, or even how the furniture is arranged, but they'll leave it like that because that's 'just the way it is'.

Hey this is place is the place to come to get things off your chest, i get bored very easily, im trying to grow my hair again and i nearly had a full on temper tantrum last night with the contents of the wardrobe as i dnt like anything i own anymore, haha typical.

But change is good, its good to have a change and to have fun with things.

Anyway you shouldnt feel bad for what happened in the past, especially as its not happening now, thats something to be proud of.

Also, there aint many people who aint drank and taken drugs.
