Okay, so I promise a real update REAL SOON NOW. It's taken much longer than I expected to get settled in to life in San Francisco, but now things are going reasonably well. Back soon! wink ARRR!!!

Life has been hectic the last month and a half, which is why I've not managed to post here. I've been to Hawai`i for a high-school class reunion, camping in the Black Rock Desert, seeking a new job, playing music at a new Irish bar here in Reno, and camping in Lassen Volcanic National Park. Tomorrow morning, we set off for Burning Man. Whee! shocked biggrin

I've...

Oh, my! It sounds like you've been having all sorts of life lately! Congratulations on the big move - I loooove the Bay Area, so I'm jealous of you!

And I have, indeed, gone on plenty of hikes lately - in fact, I've got pictures of almost all of them here:

If you're so inclined, that is.

Anyway, I'm glad to be back - and I'm glad you're doing well!!

There is a nasty intestinal virus going around this area, and I've got it. frown

On the job search, I've gotten responses regarding positions at a couple of prominent websites. Interviews and negotiations are ongoing. When I get an offer, it's likely but not quite a given that I'll be leaving Reno. That will be a bit of a wrench, seeing as we just had the...

Oh, no! Sorry to hear about the job - unemployment is no fun. Well, okay, so the not-working part is super fun. It's the no-money part I'm sorry to hear about.

But...everything seems to happen for a reason, so, you know, I'm sure it's for the best! wink

We still don't have a reliable internet connection at the new house, which is why I haven't been active here the last few weeks. We're supposed to get a DSL connection next Tuesday, though, after which I intend to catch up here.

So, hopefully, I'll see y'all soon...

Updated update: It's May 6. Last Thursday (May 3), a tech from the phone company finally made it to our house to fix our phone lines so that our DSL connection wouldactually work. We moved in on March 10, which means it took nearly 8 weeks for us to get a good internet connection here! frown mad tongue

But now that's finally done. So, hopefully, I can begin posting to this site again. Yay! smile

The last few weeks have been hectic, which is why I haven't blogged here, although I should have. Part of all the hustle and bustle are the preparations for moving. This weekend, my GF and I are moving into a house together. Everybody else seems to think that this is a big deal, but it seems perfectly natural to us.

Nonetheless, as I type this...

The trip down to So. Cal. was grand. Stayed with my bro most of the time. Also visited friends in L.A.; went to the La Brea tar pits; went to an extraordinary birthday party in an extraordinarily decorated house --- 7 Xmas trees, one room with sunburst clocks all over all the walls; checked out the folk music store and had a great Italian lunch...

Hi Dr. Chaos! I'll be in Reno mid-march on tour with my all-SG burlesque troupe, and I"d love to be in the SG Reno group so I can let folks know about the show and workshop we're putting on, and find out about cool things to do in town while we're there! Hopefully we'll be able to perform there often and meet a lot of members!

xoxo

Happy Solstice to you all!

For the holidays, my girlfriend and her little boy and I are going on a road trip down to So. Cal. We plan to visit my relatives and her friends and maybe some of my friends, in and around L.A. and San Bernardino. Maybe even as far as Santa Barbara. We'll celebrate New Year's down there, and then return home....

Last Friday I partied hard, hard, hard at a Halloween party that my girlfriend (Hi, Honey! kiss ) invited me to. And drove me home from. love kiss Nice that she can drive a stick-shift. I was barely in condition to walk by that point.

I was pleased to find that I knew about half the people at the party, even though I'd not met the host before,...

Yeah, I should blog here more often. Two months since my last post. I'm sorry.

Last month, Slow Djinn Fez played at the Drum, Dance, and Didgeridoo Festival here in Reno. That was part of the Artown celebration here, which is a month-long festival of music, dance, theater, and the visual arts. It's a large part of what makes July my favorite month here, in...
