Solstice and solace
still silencing some of the things I want to say
being brave enough to be vulnerable
and passionate enough to be reckless

I embark again and again
thinking each time it may be over
So quick to question and halt
in the quiet of a pause
Holding my breath before sighing
looking for the clue that is better
better than what I...

I've read your poem every day for the past week and I'm assuming it is about current events. Each time, I had hoped that I would change my mind and feel positive and supportive of your situation, rather than the nagging feeling that you are skating close to the thin ice near the open water. I'll just stand on the shore with long branches ready. Best wishes for MMV.
maike:
None of my friends were there, so all is well on that front, but the thoughts of all the tradegy is horrible.

MMV is the roman numeral for 2005 ! HA !

That desert is Gansu province, western China. Definitely looks like Arizona or New Mexico, but much more friendly.

Swimming is good, when one is close enough to the surface to breathe. Very glad you said not to worry. I do, when the words are dark and emotional.

I feel that blessing too.

Turkey Day in the Big Apple
bok bok bok bok bok bok bok

Love how the city empties out and becomes a temporary ghost town.
I always wonder how there can be such an exodus and I cant help but imagine what it would be like if some major -not so positive- factor made us all have to leave so suddenly.
Then I am happy to dig my heels in even more...

I hope you have a nice Christmas, with lots of goodies under the tree. Or, maybe you're streached out on a strip of white beach on a tropical island, with a little bit of rum left in the glass.

So much to balance and time passing fast . riding the line between worlds like skipping rope on fates double dutch strings. Jump down turn around, 4, 5, 6,
Fall is here and the sky is crisp.
Crystal clear light and gentle breezes.
Easy to sit in a brick building in this city and welcome the coming of autumn where we dont have to wonder...

Nothing to be sorry about, the movie banter is close to my heart. I saw the preview for Team America, and I was a little surprised. It seems to be a very pro-republican take, and some of the images were more than a little disturbing to me. If I had kids, I probably wouldn't let them see it. But, I'm usually way out in some other corner of this rock as far as political (and humanistic) thinking is concerned. I have no recollection of the Thunderbirds, so I'm absolutely no help there.

I still haven't gotten my DVD-able notebook, and I keep going back and forth between spending on the PC and another trip to China. I'm leaning toward the China trip right now, since October is really good weather there (yes, autumn), and I miss my friends.

I do want to see D Darko, so that's on the waiting DVD list. Stuff out now that I can recommend to you: Shaun of the Dead (damn funny and fun to watch), Garden State (super happy cute), Intimate Strangers (nice relaxing evening at the cinema, hearing French), and a tie for two which should be on my all-time favorites: Fellini's La Dolce vita, and Jet Li in Hero. I highly recommend you go see Hero before it leaves the theaters, since the big screen is the best way to see this. Stunning scenery of China, good fighting, and a story that is soulfully uplifting rather than killer sad. Go soon! La Dolce vita is fabulous, and if you go back a few journal pages, you'll see how much I love it. This on DVD will be your birthday present next year.

Someday / someday (the double use just means 'when you feel like it') I'd love to see the other photos of Japan (whine...you promised!).

You'd love the image as I write this: computer on a long table, and just past each end of the table the roof is leaking alot. I keep getting distracted by the drips of water out of the corners of my eyes, and my solution is just turn the music up louder. The end of the hurricane hit here today so its been a cool day, except for the power outages. Lots of driving in the rain.

I hope you're well also. The bigger studio working out for you? (PS, cool use of "remaike" in your first paragraph; I may have to use that next time.)

There's a future jouranl entry brewing to go with this photo, but it is timely to send it to you now while on the theme of storms. The umbrella will always appear, if really needed, at the right moment.

In Manhattan last night and today; really, really good to be there, so many people to watch and study. Wasted today from walking, and maybe a tad bit too much to drink.

thanks for all your sweet words, Dita! i'm really looking forward to this...i mean i will miss my ex, he is a real sweetheart but i just changed...ya know? need to find out who i am and what i want out of life and having an very cute, uber special friend help break the fall, well it made the break up easier....for me. my ex had a hard time at first but within a few weeks he came to realize that this was probably best for the BOTH of us. he's keeping the babies because i can't afford the security deposit right now. maybe later i will take my Otis (the black one). i know my ex will take great care of the babies and i can visit them whenever i want since we are still friends.

i hope everything is going great with you! take care of yourself sweet girl!

Are you using a Mac or Windows XP or Windows 98? Internet Explorer 6.0? And you're still up at 2AM? Ah, that's like my crazy hours, which I don't wish on anybody.

When I click on the red 'x' above and show the properties, it is:
http://suicidegirls.com/members/DitaMoon/pics/14963/1/<br%20/>
I see where you got this reference from. This would be called a "link", which is an indirect reference to the address, rather than the actual address.

It should be:
http://suicidegirls.com/media/members/2/83/36832/14963/158050.jpg
See if you can find this address associated with that photo, that will be the key. Then edit your entry, then just copy/paste this between the "[ img ]" "[ / img ]" tags (without the quotes, which is what tells the web browser to treat the file as a photo).

Your description "need i say more" is so appropriate. Love the red socks. I'll bet that if aunts and grandmothers were looking at that photo, they would make a little "aahh" sound and say something about cuteness, where you may blush and feel embarrassed. Unless you already knew you were cute, then you might just say "Yep". Nice that you scanned it.

Somedays, Blotto is the only way to fly and I've tried this a few times. About 1/2 the time, the alcohol just wakes me up, fixes the pain in the muscles, and then I just sit in the cramped seat and figet. And eat too much. Get off the plane looking like a zombie, redefining ugliness; clothes, face and hair a mess; and a hangover too. HA.

Buying a DVD player is only half the problem. I have a really old, pretty broken, 13-channel TV that should have been trashed about a decade ago. No input plugs for DVD, but the rabbit ears are swell. I watch it so little that thinking about buying a new one, just for the DVDs, seems like a waste. I did look at used PC notebooks on ebay which can play a DVD, and I think I'll go that route when I can.

You are absolutely right about the hot towels.

Get through the proposal OK?
9PM EDT US, and my head is still in some other time zone, so I'm crashing.

Finally put some pictures of my sailing trip up in the pics section. ARRR!!!
Like a dummy i cant figure out how to add them to the actual journal page like Maike does. When I click to add an image it says to put in a URL...
How do you do that?
Have to get a new digital camera. Scanning in pictures is so old fashioned...

The photos were worth the wait. Nice.

This was my favorite, so will use as the example. Nice when great composition just appears in front of you, isn't it?.

1. Put the .jpg in your folder, as you have done.

2. Display the photo full size (not the thumbnail).

3. Put mouse on the photo and right click to display a pop up menu.

4. Left click on "Properties".

5. The Properties box will show the full "Address: (URL)" of the photo on the SG site. Highlight the full address (hold left button and drag over the address). For this photo it is http://suicidegirls.com/media/members/2/83/36832/14874/157242.jpg

6. Right click for menu.

7. Left click on "Copy".

8. Close the Properties box.

9. In your journal box, select "Image" from the SG "Insert" menu.

10. When the Image Address box pops up, backspace to get rid of the default "http://" that appears.

11. With cursor in box, right click for menu, then select "Paste", then click "OK".

12. The photo will then be in your journal. This also works anyplace on a board thread.

No, I havn't been to Japan, (was in the Norita airport outside Tokyo for a few hours but that doen't count). It's on my list, along with Brazil and Italy and about 10 other places.

Just got back from another trip, Inner Mongolia this time(sounds so remote and romantic, but it's just another hunk of grassland, like South Dakota), and haven't had a chance to sort out a DVD player. Soon.

Did you try ebay for a repalcement for your digital camera? I've had pretty good luck there.

Good luck in the traffic going to the cape this weekend. You are brave, but you know what it will be like. Pack a lunch.

Good luck with new beau; playful or prone to naps? (Just joking; I couldn't resist.)

I'm worn out, three weeks in motion every day, lots of airplanes. Glad the holiday is almost here.

Have fun in the ocean.

Edit: Just realized I may have misunderstood the "new beau" comment; human or feline?

Your horoscope for yesterday indicated you might be a little unhappy lately. (It actually said depressed, but I never believe them.) Hope everything is going ok.

I got the Woman in the Dunes DVD last week. Some guy in France is apparently burning them in his basement. Supposed to be the uncut version, 2-1/2 hours. Now all I need is a DVD player, so this will prompt me to get off my ass, dig the quarters out of the couch, and get either a new notebook PC or a television set-up for DVDs. Can't wait to watch it.

miss you, come back soon! biggrin
