For people who work outdoors or go camping there is often a thing of having to put on cold, wet boots. Lately it has been raining in Northern California and my boots have been wet for most of the past month. In the morning while getting ready for work, there is that moment of pulling on the damp footwear. Sometimes I don’t think much about it; but other times I reflect on all the people who have the same moment of forcing their foot into unwelcoming clammy leather. I take solace in only having to deal with rain, and feel for those poor souls going out into snow and frozen landscapes. I remember having to thaw out a frozen boot over a campfire, or burning boots by trying to dry them on a woodstove or other heater. I think of all the other workers, campers, hikers, etc. who have it worst than me; and shove my foot into the shoe. Because my socks have started out dry, and that’s something…..
I’m not much into Christmas this year. My friend reminded me the Yule Log is on Television tomorrow, and that cheered me up. The Yule Log is a fireplace with burning logs they show on TV for Christmas. Every hour or so, someone adds another log. They play Christmas music in the background. I turn off the sound and listen to the stereo; while watching the fireplace on television. I once read an interview with John Lennon who said he would put the television in-between channels with just static, and then take off his eyeglasses. It was just a blur of fizzle and flashing light and he called this, “his electric fireplace”. He was always ahead of his time.
My band is recording now. We are working on a low budget CD for Indie release. Music runs my life and I never get enough of it.
I hope you have a nice day. Thanks for everything!
