So its been two months since tattooage and I miss it. The whole excitement surrounding the event is awesome, the feeling of walking around with fresh ink on you makes you feel a bit better about yourself. Do people notice you more because you have something different? Or do people notice you less because they don't look too closely anymore? I don't know. I don't really care. Its not about being noticed.. well not for me. Although saying that its nice when you get compliments about your tattoo especially from people who have gone through it themselves. People don't really talk to me so I usually don't say much to other people that I don't know... and especially people not in my 'scene', people I'd think I'd have little in common with (I'd like to think I don't conform to a scene, but hey, there is a definitely difference between me, a chav and a goth for example). But my latest tattoo has made a few people start conversations and I've noticed this more from the people who wouldn't usually take two glimpses at me.
So two months down the line.... and how did it go? Well as I said in my previous blog I loved everything about getting the tattoo. the artist. The studio. Shuv, who did the drawing for me and put up with my constant moaning about getting it how I wanted. I loved how it looked for the first few days until the healing process kicked in. It scabbed over nicely and felt like everything was running smoothely... until the scabs started coming off. PINK! The red had turned pink and the deep reds had turned EVEN MORE PINK! So I started to panic a bit that I had made a huge mistake. I read a lot about how red can be the worst colour for people to take and I was worried I was one of them people.
So I contacted Jeff at Evil From The Needle who insured me all will be ok and its just that wrists are one of the most difficult places on the body to heal. Often they require more then one stage of healing. If it needed touching up after it was fully healed then I am welcome to go back as it is "under warrenty".
So today, in most lights it looks great. In some certain lights it looks a little pinkier then I want so I still may get a little bit more red put into it. I do need to go back to make an appointment to get a few gaps filled in anyway.
... this is what it looks like today here in my room. Photos were taken with light on in the room and flash on my camera.... my camera has been battered so much that it blurs without flash these days.... but the results are still the same as what I am seeing.
... and now I can't wait to get my next one done. I'm planning a bigger piece for my left shoulder. Still need a lot of ideas and designing but the basic idea has been in my head for a long time... now I just need to perfect it!
