I got my left wrist tattooed on saturday by Mr Jeff Ortega at Evil From The Needle tattoo studio in Camden Town, London. I have always loved the idea of getting flames around my wrist. I acutally interupted the design of another piece to start on this one because I knew that I could afford to get it all done in one go instead of having something which could require months of work. I have really missed the feeling of getting a tattoo and have been dying to get one since visiting the convention last october.
Shuv and I worked on this for a long time, she did the difficult drawing for me to my instuctions and then she made it perfect. It took a good month to get it so I was totally happy and it was only a 4 days before the appointment that I knew it was right. Before then I had lots of things running though my head... is it the right shape?, is it the right colour?... does it even look like flames?
As I said previously I went to Jeff at EFTN for this tattoo after reading recomendations online and from Shuvie. It was a brilliant experience. After getting the tat on my right writs last year I had gotten a bit dis-heartened after not having a great experience and not getting the result I wanted. This was a completely different experience to the other studio. If i had gone there I can imgine that the design would have been slapped on my wrist and attacked with ink straightaway. Jeff took an hour to perfect it on my wrist and made sure I was 100% happy with it. It was amazing watching him work and an absolute pleasure being tattooed by an awesome talent. It was great wathing the tattoo come together from nothing. He even went over time into his next appointment. I'm sure the studio i went to before would have rushed at the end to get it done. So thank you once again Jeff and thanks Shuvie for helping me get this right!
So here is my experience in photos..... (don't take my word for it, but I think the photos don't really do it justice at all.)
