I love the sound of thunder as it rolls in on this late spring evening. I am waiting on the rain to hopefully me to sleep. Turn all of the lights off, open a few windows so you can smell the rain coming. I know that the rain tonight may bring some fairly formidable humidity tomorrow but it's a tradeoff I'll take. I can hear a distant train, the wheels as they hit a rail joint; ba-ding ba-dang, ba-ding ba-dang... now and then, I hear a car or truck as it makes a lonely journey to points unknown, sometimes I try to imagine where it is going, where it's been. I use all of these to help me relax, to maybe get some sleep before my alarm goes off. I am an insomniac so I try anything I can to motivate myself to sleep. These sounds and thoughts help.
