I have never really prescribed to social media. Have had a few accounts here and there and even tried blogging. There are a few people who I communicate with via email or Facebook but always seem to use the phone or in person. Even with work I always gravitate to much more personal and dynamic exchanges, frequently initiated via email or text but always seeming to transition to live communication. My work is fairly creative though and much of what inspires me is driven by the dynamic nature of human beings and the many ways which we process information. It's one of my favorite things about working in technology, the human interface and humans and technology can interact. I see a very different world than what social networks currently construct and none are really as innovative as they should be. The way communities act and form and how humans interact communicate and bond are only partially tapped by the current constructs. I have worked with companies like NASA and Microsoft Labs, developed game AI's and AI's that can do content recognition. Hung out with people simulating physics down to a scary amount of detail but no one seems to be applying these things that we learn to the reality that we live in. I hesitate to use the term artificial reality because that's not quite right. It's really about real reality mirrored by technology not simulated reality. Technology as part of this experience not a separate experience. Anyway, that's my mind dump disguised as a blog entry.
A extremely late hello to all you extraordinary and inspiring people out there. My silence was never a commentary or lack of appreciation for all the denizens of this wonderful space.
