so as I lay here in my bunk in a tent amongst 40 of my fellow soldiers on this hot night in the middle east in a undisclosed location . I put my headphones in and listen to some soothing music with background sounds of the ocean. I can't help to imagine being back home on the beach watching my son search for crabs and starfish in the rocks as I sit watching my fishing pole rock back and forth with the draw of the waves. My son would always ask if we could stay for the next tide so we could catch more fish. Truth is he doesn't have to ask me that, I would keep him out there anyway and watch the sun fall behind the water. At that moment right before the sun is fully emerged in the ocean, there lay a view of forever beauty and it happens everyday no matter what.....I've come to realize being in a warzone, that life is like the rise and fall of that very tide that I crave so much. No matter when you are at your highest you shall fall, when you are at lowest you shall rise......take this for what its worth in your own sense
