As I sat around watching feeds, streams, and vlogs I began to realize that too many people don't know what they are really following, preaching, promoting or condemning. I may upset a few of you who take the time to read this, while it was not my intention I am not sorry. If my words offend you then you may be part of the subject matter being mentioned in this post.
I hear a few things being thrown around as insults, arguements or defenses against accusations that are either misinterpretations, outright ignorance on a subject, or pure misinformation the users believe to be true. For instance one is not racist because they do not agree with an extreme view of your own racial politics. I am a person who enjoys diversity and variety, whether it's the food I eat, company I keep, music I listen to, or clothing styles I wear. I do not believe in cultural appropriation. I practice an african religion, Have a Japanese style shoulder cap, piercings that could have come from any number of tribal origins, and i am quite fond of Victorian clothing. My likes and dislikes are varied on personal preference not ethnic origin.
I feel i can disagree with ones politics and not dislike the person as long as their politics are not being used to infringe someone elese rights or to inflict harm. I feel the government is using peoples paranoia and disinformation to divide us with race baiting and socioeconomic divisions. I grew up poor, not super poor, but for my brothers and I to have things my parents did without. I grew up in a neighborhood that began to become a minority neighborhood as the government bought more and more houses from people who could not afford to repair them as the former swampland they were built on began to erode.by middle school the neighborhood was mostly viet and black, most of my friends growing up were viet or black. It is safe to say I picked up some cultural mannerisms. (mostly from my black friends) I am a bearded tattoed white guy who listens to just as much metal as he does classic hip hop, most of the new hip hop just doesn't keep my interest.
The words racist, bigot, homophobe, xenophobe, and islamophobe get thrown around way too much. Hatred and evil are too readily used as well. I think (especially in the case of hatred and evil) most people have never seen the true face of these words. opposition is not hatred. I can show you hatred and evil in their purest forms. I live a binary life when it comes to love and hate If you are my friend i love you if you worng me enough to no longer be my friend I hate you. if we are acquaintances I tolerate your presence in my life either for work or because you serve a function.
I am an egalitarian.
Some of my favorite people are trans.
I vote Libertarian.
I don't drink the Kool-Aid, i will take someone at face value until either they give me a reason to doubt them or my research shows me a reason not to. I dont feel like we can afford even 4 years of a democrat, but i dont think Trump is right either.
I don't like the alphabet soup people use to refer to the lgbt community. I get it everyone wants representation, the point of the acronym was to have something short and convenient to say. I myself identify as a special non traditional sexual preference. I mostly identify as male and for the sake of not explaining to people all the time i just say I am bisexual. If i was being specific though I was say that I am a gender fluid pansexual who tends to be hetero dominant and a sadist. I am not a Special Snowflake though and i don't like all the fuss people tend to make trying not to offend me. I have avery thick skin and am not easily offended. I do not like having a fuss made about me. For instance (just to illistrate my dislike of special treatment) I tend to tell my mom just to buy a keylime pie and order a pizza for my birthday. She insists on doing something special and I can tolerate that much.
I think this has gone on long enough. I just had some random thoughts rattling around in my mind and I thought I would share a bit of my thoughts with this wonderful community.
