So when do big decisions regarding pronunciation take place? I remember about a year ago I started to hear the name Carnegie (which I've always pronounced and heard pronounced Kar-neh-Gee) pronounced as Kar-Nee-gee. When did that happen and why? And then today on NPR they were talking about Genghis Kahn and they pronounced it Jenghis Kahn. Are there memos that I'm missing?
