After 30 or so years I finally got to see Shirley Manson and Garbage perform last night. What a frickin' amazing woman. Still kicking ass. And then there was this other little band that headlined...

Ahhh...this one takes me back.
The P-Furs were in very heavy rotation on my turntable. Saw them play at the Agora Ballroom in Atlanta.
They dropped a new album last year which is quite good, BTW.
You might recognize this song. Cyndi Lauper made it a hit. Tom Gray wrote it. He led an Atlanta band, The Brains, in the 80s. Give it a listen and he'll tell you a little more of the story. He died this week after a long fight with cancer. Rest easy, Tom.
If only this song had not been so damn prescient.
