Im feeling kind of lucky today because I think I narrowly escaped death. Well that may be a bit dramatic but I did barely avoid an accident.
I have a forty-minute drive down I-95 to get to work everyday. Everyone does at least 75 MPH and drive like maniacs. Theres a weigh station were traffic gets congested from time to time so I try to be careful around there. Anyway, I saw everyone in front of me slowing way down and nearly coming to a stop. I started breaking and looking in my rearview mirror. The semi behind me isnt slowing down. I keep looking at the traffic in front of me then back at the truck. Now the truck is a lot closer with smoke coming from its tires. It still isnt slowing down.
When I look back its fishtailing and theres tire smoke everywhere. By this time Im getting really close to the car in front of me. Were all still rolling along at about 15 MPH and I can hear the trucks tires screeching. I pulled into the other lane cutting off another car and when I did, the truck slid in right beside me where I was a second ago, it was all I could do to avoid crapping myself, but I held strong!
So maybe I just avoided an accident but I prefer to think of myself as The Defier of Death.
Yall be good.
