There was this art & wine festival going on in town which sounded like maybe a decent way to blow a few weekend hours. Wasn't my scene. Lots of tents, kids, vendors and such.
Decided to go check out the local art museum instead. Goes by the name of the Crocker Museum, and it's got some pretty cool architecture. Not exactly the Guggenheim, but definitely worth a visit. Current exhibits were on Mongolian art and Italian drawings from the 16th century. Permanent collections were pretty good for a mid-sized town like Sacramento.
One thing that really surprised me was that people in the museum seemed to have a different standard of behavior than I'm used to. It didn't seem like people had "museum voices", they just kept up conversations at full volume, calling out to their buddies across the room and such. Guess I'm used to people acting with a certain respect, if not reverence in museums, sort of like in a church. Maybe there's no reason for treating museums with that kind of respect, it's just what I'd become acclimated to.
I didn't check out the bottom floor yet, maybe I'll hit that next week.

You couldn't go wrong applying as a Guzzi rider and a person with respect for museums.
