Hi - it's been a while. I've been keeping myself busy with the anime & gaming community that I'm involved with.
Since I last posted, I'm now a cosplay & radio moderator, and I've also been fortunate enough to be given a shot at presenting shows, so a few weekends ago I headed to Earls Court, London for the WLFCC. Dressed as "Rocker" Lestat (my own interpretation of him from the books, as I refuse to watch the film Queen of the Damned, due to the studio's decision to ignore most of the second book in the series), I hosted the Cosplay Masquerade on both Saturday & Sunday. Both days went well, without any embarrassing moments & I've been asked to continue hosting masquerades & other events at future conventions, as well as heading up a Vampire Clan at our own convention next year, ALCon. Needless to say, I'm pretty stoked; all those years of theatre classes & am-dram groups might finally be paying off :D Whilst dressed as Lestat, I was able to take my seat on the Iron Throne; think it suits the Brat Prince well!
As an added bonus, I was also lucky enough to get to meet one of my favourite character actors from a series ever; Katee Sackhoff (aka Kara "Starbuck" Thrace from Battlestar Galactica. Along with Michael Trucco (Samuel T. Anders), I got to chat a little about the show & got Katee's sig, plus a photo:
I think I was actually a little star struck, meeting Katee; I couldn't think of anything to say, apart from accolades about how cool I thought she was & how many times I'd watched BSG (currently on my 6th run through - even Michael was "impressed" haha) Seriously though, BSG just does it for me! So yeah, it was a good weekend.
The Lestat you saw was also worn out (with some new, fancy multi-tone contacts) on Halloween to a local Industrial night. Finally think I've got my make-up down to near perfect lol
Other than that & the chore that has become my job (not for much longer, as I'm planning on relocating to London early next year! :D), the only other thing of note recently was the arrival of American Horror Story: Coven on UK Netflix. I watched it in two sittings!! I couldn't help it; just as I was going to stop the first time, Stevie Nicks appeared in the show & then performed some of her songs - captivating! If it wasn't obvious, I'm a huge fan of Stevie (and Fleetwood Mac) & her voice gives me chills. So, combined with the cast & crew of AHS (such as awesome show), witches & lots of gore, I was in my element for sure!
Oh, and I've been playing Diablo 3 on my PS3 like a boss, since getting it as a late birthday present from a friend! What can I say? I'm a loot-monkey at heart!! :D
