i saw nirvana at the pyramid in NYC summer of 89. i bought my LOVE BUZZ single from novalselic fromthe back of their van.

i saw them in 90 3 times with loop.

then the last time was in sept of 91. i feel bad that i never saw them again... i hate huge rock shows... so i tend to avoid them.

i feel bad i avoided nirvanas's rock shows 91-94. boo hoo.
kingskottie:
i added you on my friends list.

just a quickie before i crash....

as a newbie, i'm finally feeling at home and am having a blast! i've always been a bit shy about talking to people online, posting on boards etc., but your friendliness makes it easy!

just flipped on conan, his hair is looking particularly high again this evening.

i still miss andy

Another SG member in Idaho...and I had almost given up on ever finding another one here in this -snicker- state. It's a shame I'm leaving so soon (leaving Idaho that is) we could have a curry night right here in Boise and show 'em all. Well...we could.
astrogirl3000:

went drinking with friends from brian's work last night and ended up driving his boss home in his car. i hadn't driven an automatic in a looong time. all his drunk ass could talk about was how he's fat and how he wonders how his boyfriend finds him attractive. alcohol induced drama is not my friend. nice enough fellow though. hopefully the next time i...

hey fortissimo--what's austin like??? i've heard lots of great things about your city. people i've talked to who have been there say boise is like a smaller version of austin.
fortissimo:
austin rocks! we are actually most frequently compared to portland, home of SG...i've never heard boise mentioned, but from what i've heard of it i dare say the comparison is a fair one.

we have a *very* active live music scene, running the full gamut from classical to country, folk, blues, rock, punk, goth, techno, IDM, jazz, a dozen dozen varieties of world music, and everything in between.

we also have a lively variety of other performing arts, including live theater, dance, improv comedy, performance art, literary readings, poetry slams, and other things beyond categorization. for example, we have an annual "haunted house" called Haunted Trails held in a local nature preserve that goes beyond the typical haunted house formula to develop an intricate backstory and an actual plot complete with characters.

there are lots of little art galleries, and most restaurants and cafes also display local art of some kind.

speaking of restaurants, there are some very fine ones here, and some excellent late night greasy spoons to boot.

we have a lot of green space and parks, with hike and bike trails. we have a wonderfully icy natural springs spool, and the only legally nude public "beach" in Texas, although being on an inland lake it is more like a stack of rocks for basking on than a "beach".

the city's political spectrum runs the full gamut from card-carrying communists to members of the extreme religious right. the university of texas and a sprinkling of smaller local colleges provide a steady infusion of young, intellectually inclined people. and the intellectual vibrance of the city in general is exceptional.

but this is SuicideGirls, so what you most want to know is that there are cute punk, goth, emo, and indie girls here in abundance. inked girls, pierced girls, girls with glasses, all here. boys too, in all of the above categories.

in short, it's as close to heaven as texas gets.

....which means it's damn near making heaven jealous! biggrin

chrome is a great album...excellent choice!

i feel the same way about fall. it an interesting juxtaposition, the dead leaves and my lively thoughts.

unfortunately, here in Texas fall is not just around the corner, but several miles off and buried under 500 feet of steel-reinforced concrete.

it will be a long time coming, if ever it comes at all.

*sigh* ah, for but a single shiny red leaf, splotched with rain and lying on the sodden ground.
astrogirl3000:
it ended up raining today after all!! yay!!! fortissimo, i am also a saint etienne fan, "you're in a bad way" is the song that's been stuck in my head for weeks
