So the pictures above are what I was doing a couple of weeks ago. I was modeling for an outdoor nude workshop where I was modeling on rocks and trees and it completely tore up my butt. I have been extremely busy lately with modeling and job searching and traveling.
A couple of weeks ago I was one of only 3 models to participate in a photography workshop taking place in Crestone, CO. The workshop was given by Steve Anchell called The Nude in Southern Colorado. Only 4 photographers are allowed to participate and they only ask one model per photographer. One of the photographers backed out due to the lovely traveling conditions through London and even though I was the last one signed up, I was still asked to participate. It was an honor to have been asked as Steve does some wonderful work. It was a blast to participate in this. We shot in hot springs in Crestone, we shot at an abandoned silver mine in Bonanza, not to mention in canyons and rivers. The Aspens were at their peak in the color change and was just beautiful. Steve also asked me on a couple of occasions to shoot with just him for his own personal projects. One of which was in the main building of the mine and he wanted to shoot me because I showed that I could really evoke emotion in images and that was what he was going for.
Needless to say, I made some great contacts and friends through this workshop and I can't wait to see the images. I was also asked to write for the photography magazine he is editor-in-chief of and was suggested to help him with his workshops in the future.
Let's see, a couple of weeks before that I flew out to St. Louis for my cousin's wedding. It was an odd experience as my old 6th grade teacher was there. She was probably one of the last people I would have ever expected to see there. It was definitely interesting to talk to her on a "grown-up" level. I found I liked her much better as an adult.
On the work front, I had an interview with a residential real estate company near my place and it is working out really well. I met with them for the second time on Thursday and I will be receiving an offer sometime early next week. If the offer is good, I will be starting to work there on November 2nd. I am hoping that it is acceptable as I will be hired on as Director of Operations. It will be a new experience for me and I am really hoping everything works out. I'll actually get to use my business degree! Yay! But it will be a much better environment than the one I am in now and will be a much more lucrative venture in the future. I mean, really. The Director of a company at only 29 (well, 28 until December)? I think that's pretty good.
I know, this is probably getting sickening to read. Don't worry. Life isn't perfect. Just take a look at my ass in those pictures
Seriously though, things are looking up but are far from perfect. It's just nice to be excited about something. I'll stop gloating now.
I'm sorry I haven't gotten to respond to most of your comments. I've been SO busy lately. I am going to try to respond to them after I finish typing this.
My writing is still hidden somewhere on a disk that I have yet to find. Luckilly I have a hard copy of everything so if worse comes to worse I can just hard type it into the computer again.
If you could have one thing in life that seems unattainable now, what would it be?
