Well, today has been an up and down day. The day started off good. I woke up feeling good and got to spend some time with my brother and his family before they left to head back overseas. Then I took care of some things (or so I thought) for school next week.
The highlight of my day was getting coffee with a real cool chick and having a good long conversation about a variety of things. So, I was feeling really good for a few hours while we were spending time together.
After coffee I decided to go to my school to pick up my books and the supplies that I need for this semester only to find out that I couldn't pay for them with my financial aid and that I needed to go speak to someone in the financial aid office. I came to find out that my financial aid has been denied. I was pissed considering I had checked online this morning and there's nothing on my account saying that I'm not receiving financial aid. In fact it says not only that I am supposed to get financial aid for this semester, but also says when I'm supposed to receive it.
The lady in financial aid proceeded to tell me that my financial aid has been denied because I have taken to many credits without receiving my Associates degree. I tried to explain that when I first attended the school 10 years ago it was to take my core classes and transfer to a four year school which I did. Now I'm back to get my pre-paramedic certificate. She told me that it doesn't matter and that I have to fill out an appeal and meet with an advisor. If I do these things I may get my financial aid back. I don't know when I'm going to get this done, because I work most of the day tomorrow and the school is closed Monday. My freaking class starts on Wed. I'm just praying that I don't get dropped from my class.
In the end it's my own fault. I put everything off during the holidays. Once again I put my family ahead of myself. I wanted to wait to take care of my school stuff until after my dad and my brothers family went back overseas. Oh well, it is what it is.
If I don't go to school this semester maybe I'll take my friends lead and look for a change of scenary. BSU may be in my future, or I could be going back, back to Cali, Cali.
Peace
Robert

silvercharmer:
The appeal doesn't take very long at all. They'll usually approve your appeal if you're in academic good-standing. See if they can put a hold on your classes so you don't get dropped while you're appealing.
