Can anyone in SG land help me?!

I need a DJ for my wedding in April. What I am looking for is someone who IS a wedding DJ or is good at what they do and can entertain 100-150 guests of all ages and make the appropriate announcements, etc. You get it, yeah?

I want someone who is either affordable (hence the reason I am trying to find an "up and coming" kind of person and avoiding big companies) OR who is willing to exchange a great website for services.

If you are a DJ in Atlanta or know someone who is and would be interested, please PM me!

[Sorry for being all Craigslisty on my blog..poo]

Hola!

Its been awhile since my last blog...a loooong while. Seems to be a trend with me lately. I remember a time when I was on this site all day, every day. I've officially been corrupted by this little, lazy beach town and thus, have no motivation to do anything except be lazy and lay in the sun swatting bugs.
I have started marketing for Outlaw Design Blog. Thats Danny's blog. If you have your own design related company, and want to advertise with us you can PM me for more info.
Sadly enough, aside from that I don't have much to say. I will post pictures of the beautiful Caribbean, just across the street from my house and of yours truly.
I will also try to keep up with this blog more often. AT LEAST once a week. Promise. wink

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

^^ I wasn't happy in that one because there were sea urchins everywhere, making it difficult to walk anywhere. whatever

Thats all she wrote.

Well, we made it back to Costa Rica. I will post photos in the next few days of the house, etc. Our house is up a little street at the very end nestled in the rain forest. The house is pretty much all open air, therefore I get eaten alive by mosquitoes. My friends here keep telling me I will get used to it in a few weeks and won't notice the bites anymore. I hope so..never got used to them before. We went and bought our new rides. Two banana handled, beach bikes with baskets on the front..my is hot, hot pink. I already put one of my SG stickers on the back. Anyway, every day we have to ride 1-2 miles (on unpaved gravel, pot holed roads) into town to get on the computer to work..my legs hate me right now! haha We are right across the road from the beach. When it's dark out and there is less traffic (not that there is a lot) we can hear the ocean. We have GIANT bugs all over our house and yard. We have a resident banana spider in our window. He is missing a leg, but is still just as creepy. He is even painted in a mural on the side of our house. Guessing he's been there awhile. We also have a new dog..sort of. Our first night in the house this random CR dog walked up and hasn't left. SHe sits on the steps looking in at us just begging to be pampered like our pups. Skunk doesn't like her around though. We have taken the dogs to the beach the past few days. Until we got here neither of them had ever seen the ocean. Skunk is still unsure about it. She loves the water, but hates the waves crashing..she runs away in panic every time. Raisin, he is my little woosie. He HATES water...rain, baths, and the ocean too. He WILL NOT get in. I have been holding him and walking in about knee deep with him to try and get him used to it, but he still doesn't like it. Time I suppose. In the mean time he just sits by our shoes and stuff and sun baths. He's our beach guard. They love playing on the beach though..all the open space. Our beach is nice too, they're not a lot of people down on our end...well, none really.
I'm really hoping it won't take me long to get used to the heat. I have been pouring sweat for days now...maybe in a couple months I won't notice.
Sorry this blog has been one big tangent. I have so much stuff to say and do running through my head right now that I can't really organize my thoughts. Sorry.

Today I went to pick up some supplies from Target. i.e. Contact solution, toothpaste, travel size bottles of everything, etc...things I can't get in Costa Rica without a 4 hour drive. Anyway, I couldn't resist buying more than what I went for. I am really good at spending money on needless things. I bought a super rad pair of aviators. They actually look pretty dumb on me, but I don't care because I think they rock. I got a hat, which again doesn't look great on me, but I love it..and it fuckin' fits! I can NEVER find a hat that fits my teeny head. I bought a brand new bandanna because mine was pretty worn out..I live in that thing. I got a green tee too. One of those eco-friendly made of recycled bottles shirts, ya know? According to Target (or is it Walmart)'s commercial, if everyone in the U.S. bought one of those shirts, it would be the equivalent to recycling some insane amount of bottles. I'm all about that. Hm..I bought bright pink and bright red lipstick, which again, I can't really rock - but I don't care. biggrin I like.
Unfortunately, I don't seem to have anything worth saying. Just a bunch of mumbo jumbo today. Boring, I know.
Awhile back I had a Nintendo DS, which while starving for money I sold it on Craigslist. Now that I am going to CR for a long ass time with nothing to do, I decided I want one. I convinced my kid brother to trade me his DS for my ipod. But, won't you need an ipod when you get bored, you ask? He doesn't know I have another, newer one. He thinks I rock. haha Look out, I will get my ass on some wifi Mario Kart and Animal Crossing soon. I will clue you all in on my tag once I get that DS in my hands.
We are going to go up to NC and get all of our crap out of storage and move it to a cheaper place before we take off again on Thursday (not tomorrow). Tell you what, there are a pair of black pants in that storage unit I really, really can NOT wait to get back. I miss those pants..and I never really thought I would miss a pair of pants. I have a lame life. ha
I have also decided that it really irritates me that every time I attach a photo, anywhere on the site, it gets loaded into my attachments folder. There are so many of the same pic in there. I feel like I'm whoring one pic. Oh well.

I was looking through all my old albums and pictures, and I found some of my best friend (well, I haven't talked to him in awhile) and I from a long time ago. These pictures represent one of the greatest days I had with him and some of the best fun we had together. Want to see? I want to share.

I also found this fun picture of myself with another friend, who I also haven't talked to in quite some time. His face sort of got cut out of this one though.

Also, found the pics I used on my SG application, thought I would post those.

Thats all. I'll try to write something worth reading at another time.
xoxo

Ok, this is a TERRIBLE picture because I took it with my phone. But you get the idea.

APRIL 26, 2008 @ 08:26 AM | 11 COMMENTS

So..last night I discovered that I have the coolest kid brother in the world. A few beers and this discovery somehow told me to invite him to a concert (thinking there would be nothing playing he could attend - not anytime soon anyway). We searched for something he might like, and well..my jaw about fell to the floor when I logged onto Panic! At the Disco's site and saw that they have a show..tonight. Well, I thought for sure my dad would say, "hell no! he's 10!" Go figure, he said he could go. So now, my not-so-enthused-about-this-particular-show fiance, and my not-so-enthused-self will be at the Masq tonight with a 10 year old. While I am very excited for my brother. He's lucky, going to a concert at 10...and I am excited to be able to take him to his first one.....::sigh:: I don't really want to be there! haha Isn't that something, the way this worked out.
He is the coolest though. For a 10 year old. He knows who Jim Morrison is. He thinks Brody is hot. He knows how to Skank and he said I get to take him for his first tattoo in um..8 years. Cute.

Anyway, this whole post is to say...that if you are in Atlanta, and will be at the show...you should look for me. I would love to meet some of the folks from SG land. However, if you happen to bump into me, keep the SGness to a minimum. Like, don't let the kid hear "SG" or "Jayna".

Soo...it's been a month since I last wrote. I've been so busy. I used to be on SG close to 24/7, now I am lucky to have time to sleep.

We leave to make the official move to CR on May 8th. The wedding will be on April 26, 2009. Seems like forever away...I just want it to be over with, so I can stop planning. I got some Corpse Bride toys for our cake toppers, ha!

Pictures?

I'm too short to see in 90% of the mirrors that actually exist (they are hard to come buy) in Costa Rica.

zoom image
I'm the nearest one with the blue pack. This is the day that our cab was too afraid to make it up the muddy road. So we had to walk a few miles to the next town until some guy in a Tacoma picked us up. At that moment, we had to cram 7 people and all of our packs into the back of this truck, in the mud and the rain. We were covered in clay...it was fun though. More pictures of that later.

zoom image
That is my back. Since I am lacking in the pictures of myself in Costa Rica department, this is what you get.

Toucan Sam. I asked for his autographed, but he didn't have a Sharpie on him. surreal

I got to pet these guys.

This waterfall has a name - I've forgotten it.

This is Manny. He lives at Rockin' J's and he sleeps anywhere.

zoom image
Thats 72 bottles of liquor we used to make Jungle Juice (Hunch Punch, tropical style) for J's bday.

zoom image
This (and the next) are me trying NOT to fall into the cold river. Always with that damn cigarette (I'm quitting).

zoom image
This is where I did most of my sleeping - also at Rockin' J's. Only I had one of these fancy schmancy guys. biggrin

This is all of us before doing the zip line canopy tour in Monte Verde. I'm the short one, 2nd from the right. I have my SG tank on.

zoom image
This is all of us eating. I'm again, 2nd from right.

Ok, thats all for now. I am STILL waiting on the pics and videos from everyone else. There are some funny videos and pics I want to share with you all.

I'm back!

Costa Rica was a blast! I can't wait to go back...woo wee..! I have tons of stories and tons of photos, but I will have to save that for a later day. All our pictures are strung out over a group of people. Once I see them I should have 1000s of pics on disk to share. As much as I would love to write about everything now, it would take me forever. It will also take numerous blogs. Soooo much to tell. We found a house and it's lovely. Well, lovely for Costa Rican standards. We will be make the official move in mid April. If all goes as planned.

Also....the boy popped the question! love love I will post a pic of the shiny new bling as soon as I get a decent pic of it.

I have a lot of catching up to do on the site though, so I'm off to browse the boards, etc.

Here are a few pics of us in the worlds largest butterfly garden.

This is a picture of irritable me. There were 8 of us crammed in the back of a truck (that was obviously used for moving cow poo and hay) up a muddy, rocky, road to a "hidden" waterfall in the rain. Not fun, but fun..? That doesn't really make sense.

This is my travel partner, "Mr. Roaming Gnome." He is on top of a chair thing at Rockin' J's Hostel in Puerto Viejo, CR

In Montezuma...where we ate breakfast...ooo aaa

This was our "last name" posted outside our door at a hotel we stayed at (where he proposed). The reservations were apparently made under a pen name, not our real name. hehe
zoom image

And the last for now. This was in my crossword puzzle book...appropriately titled "Crasswords" (in case you are wondering why all the clues seem to have your mind in the gutter.

Thats all for now.
