Lovely old signs. Now here's the thing: I can clearly remember seeing some of them in use when I was a kid. They always seemed more definite than the ones we have today. No friendly, chatty lower-case script, just a bloody great HALT, meaning ''YOU WILL BLOODY WELL STOP WHEN I TELL YOU.'' ; )
